At roughly 80k miles, my AC compressor bearing. Went kaput. Got. Used one from someone for 70 shipped. It lasted until 114k miles when it started cutting out. It died when the ac clutch started spewing sparks. I posted a WTB here, when @JohnnyTightlips linked me to the thread of parts that don't suck: https://mazdaspeeds.org/index.php?threads/4476/

He scored a Jensen AC compressor that's a rebuilt unit build in the USA for around 150 bucks. https://www.ebay.com/itm/AC-Compres...w-turbo-2-3L-1yr-Warr-New-97470-/381732848131

Then got a pair of cans of cool stuff:

You can get the equipment to fill the car for 20 bucks. Then install. I had techs at my dealer swap it. It's been going for a few months now. Works great, and is a great fix for ms3 owners who have ac issues.

Good to hear it is working so well. Mine has been working over a year now with no issues.

::sidenote:: You may want to tell them your car model and year as when I bought mine they said there are a few years where the compressor changed mid year or something silly like that. I just messaged them and sent a pic of my old one and they confirmed for me.

I did have a shitty time getting that plug to clip in far enough, seemed like one of the wire pins was coming loose. but once I did get it seated, it was all gucci for the rest of the summer.

157k and tonight after a month of sitting, she was screaming Metal scraping. Turned off ac, quiet. So yeah. There is that. But not bad for the price and miles if it's bad.

Was there any update to this? AFAIK, Jensen Auto in Michigan is simply the shop, not the actual manufacturer of the part. Since the eBay link is dead, I'd like to try and get some better info on where to get this compressor.

I didn't hear back. Give them a call.
