I know this is an thread. But i just made an account. Recommend by another mazdaspeed person. But i definitely having this issue after replacing rear main seal. I could not put the car in gear whole running. Im still iffy on if the clutch disk is right after i put a new one in it but all research says it is. Anyway. Im i spent so much time bleeding this thing. Even replaced the slave found out its bad. But im used to bleeding where i can go half of the res an still be good. I will have to try this bleeding method as well as the fire wall line. I let it get to about half twice. So if this is the case then i put more air on it. The fork opens pretty far but its not touching. Not sure if it supose to. But ill get pressure but im guessing its not enough

When you say the clutch was backwards, hat do you mean? Details and pics?
for reference. Flat side center and high side. Disk wise. If not mistaken flat side should against the flywheel. Which is how i installed it. My slave cylinder was not compressing properly. The piston was stuck in. I figured putting a new one on and bleed it. Wouldn't be this long to do. But found this discussion on the from for bleed procedure. So i going to do it that way

I have found if youre able to put pressure in the master cylinder almost like a brake flush. You can unbolt the slave and tilt it up to get all the air out. It helped me when I changed the slave cylinder on my speed 3
