CS BBK amazing. Reveals other weaknesses

Good morning all. I took my '13 speed to am Autox meet yesterday and was having trouble keeping the car in gear when stopping. Slides right out when I stand on the brakes. Best recommendations for replacement shifters or is there a rebuild kit/something I can do other than replacing the whole component?

I had the same problem on my Gen 1. It would pop out of 2nd during hard braking at autocross events. I put the Cobb shifter weight on, and replaced the OE PMM and TMM with Damond ones (already had the CS stage 2 RMM) and the problem seems to have gone away (although I've only done 1 event since then). The lighter Cobb shifter weight would be the cheapest thing to try first though and probably would do the trick (I wanted to do the Damond side mounts anyway, not sure if they helped with this problem or not).

Also, if your shift knob is heavy, it might help to switch it to something lighter (like the stock knob), even if it's just for autocross to see if it helps.
 
I completely removed my heavy shift knob on my second run and it was still doing it. I dont have any kind of short shifter setup yet and would like to use this as an excuse for an upgrade to something else, just not sure what yet.

I’m not really a fan of short shifters myself. They usually cause more harm then they do good on this platform for some reason. It does not take much to ruin a shift fork or a synchro and once you do…yea. It sucks lol.

that said I do believe people have good success with the CS short shifter setup? Others can chime in on that.

what I do know is you gotta avoid those short shift plates. Those are trouble.
 
I removed the giant oem shift weight but went to a smaller one just for a little variance. Didn't like it weightless
 
Just wanted to come back and say that removing the shift weight and going back to the OEM shift knob really worked today. The road was wet so the car wasn’t pitched forward as hard as it will be on dry road on hard braking but I’m confident the issue is gone.
