Cw turbochargers stage two engine

OK, I don’t really know if this is the spot to post this or if anybody on here has any knowledge of what I’m about to ask if so sweet I would really appreciate anyone’s input before trying to jump into this project. So my buddy years ago bought a 2012 2013 speed shortly after buying it motor blew up after a few years of the car sitting in the garage he decided to buy a stage two engine off of CW turbochargers capable of producing 650 hp according to their site. He’s asked me to help pull stock engine out and put this engine in. I’m pretty mechanically inclined, but don’t have much knowledge of this vehicle and I’m wondering if anyone has an information on a swap like this virtually is it to plug and play or does he need a HPFP bigger injectors? do we need an access port or a way to tune it or should it run off of stock and just make stock power? I know we’re looking into upgrading the clutch and flywheel what other than that I have a little to no information right now just trying to collect any and as much knowledge on this job before we jump into it. Anyway, thanks for reading looking forward to hopefully receive some input, any and all questions comments would be greatly appreciated!

Going to need a long list of parts to see that power, it's just a built motor capable of 650. AP, hpfp, full exhaust, intake/exhaust manifolds, etc etc etc...

Okay, thanks for the input! I’m assuming then it should run with stock tune and any supporting mods that have been previously done to the car then? I don’t have much info on what was done in the past other than he had a water/meth mit on it so I’m sure he’s done bolt ons and assuming a tune. I know he doesn’t want to see it produce anywhere near 650 maybe 400 when he’s done with other supporting mods. I don’t care about numbers either just would be happy to succeed in getting this engine in and running correctly I’ve recommended him getting a Haynes or similar service manual in aid to install as the questions I have are more on how this engine is timed, is it a vvt engine that should come keyed so we can’t bump it out of time? Obviously the manual should tell us all the torque specs of bolts and such and have information and instructions but any and all information prior to setting my hands on it always helps!

ANY mods to the car will require a tune either via Cobb AP or Versatuner and from a reputable tuner (Freek/PD). For timing see the VVT how-to by Rokusek, but the engine he bought from CW should be a long block and already timed iirc. All the shop manuals/torque specs are available on this forum.

it's important to note CW is not the one building the engines he's using bobspeed out of Montreal QC as the builder who seems to be doing good work and is in my current opinion a viable option in Canada.

parts are as follows per CW webpage https://www.cwturbochargers.com/products/stage-2-650hp-built-long-block-for-mazdaspeed-mzr-disi

Manley 88mm Platinum series Pistons
-Manley H-Tuff Rods 625+
-King P-Max Rod Bearings
-Clevite Main Bearings
-OEM Main bolts
-New Oil Jets
-Bobspeed balance shaft delete (baffle included)
-Freektune H11 Head studs
-Crower Valve springs (8000rpm capable)
-Rebuilt Cylinder Head to Mazda specifications
-VVT basket cleaned and inspected
-OEM Headgasket
-OEM timing components
-Viton valve seals
-OEM oil pump

yes you can just slap the engine in connect all the OEM equipment, no tune and it'll run as OEM

if you want more power you absolutely need hpfp internal upgrades, even for just an intake on these engines. and a tune etc, as for aux fuel you're looking at PI or meth, as currently there are no upgradable injectors for us, although it sounds like there might be something in the works with a new company.

there's some great how to returnless PI set-up guides here, diamond motorsports and corksport both have great intake manifolds for that. I would stay away from any of the graveyard performance crap.

if you're looking at tuning solutions you're stuck with access port or versatune. please for tuners only let your buddy go with freektune or purpledrank, Justin and Ryan respectively are wizard. if he goes with dramatune he will need another engine, I cannot fathom why that guy has the cult following he does on Facebook when he's consistently popping engines, we have a massive thread here of his ridiculousness over the years.
