CX-7 K04 Specs vs Mazdaspeed3/6 K04

I was tuning my friends speed3 on "stock" K04 and it was acting pretty weak and not holding boost I would expect it to. Turns out he had a CX-7 turbo which is marginally different from the one on the Mazdaspeed3/6.

Here is the info I found in case someone with a K04 fetish is looking for comparison of the two. The housing is identical, but there are minor differences in the compressor and turbine wheel.

Thanks again for the help my man hopefully we can get it swapped out with speed turbo soon or something.
 
Wow, someone did what I did - Compare the 582 and 882!
Based on my research and comparing the two, the housings are not identical, the CX-7 turbine side has a MUCH smaller inlet/AR. Even when ported it's smaller than the MS3 K04 turbine housing. I gotta find the MSF pic comparisons I did....

Well, that makes a lot of sense based on what i'm seeing in my buddies logs. Seems to be completely choking out at ~220g/s.

Kinda sad that there is something even worse than the OE mazdaspeed k04 out there.
