Damond Mount Design

I just wanted to say thanks for making these mounts, the drivetrain is so well behaved and at a tolerable level of NVH. Thanks guys!

Hey, MSO. Check out what some of the parts many of you run go through before you get them. We take a lot of pride in our parts, and hope you take pride in what you put on your car. Take a read at Damond Mount Design..
Good info. Why the redesign on the PMM? I have one of the V1 mounts that has the upper section machined out of a solid block of aluminum. I'm curious if there are performance differences?

If I had to guess its probably more cost effective than machining a big block of aluminum, performance should be the same regardless since its the same bushing, location, and orientation. That being said I sure do like the look of my earlier revision PMM better.

Cost reduction (to the consumer), and can use the same parts in multiple applications.
I wish I had bought all three instead of only rmm before the redesign. Are there any of the V1 PMM available? I would gladly pay the old price for a solid top piece of aluminum and a design which works around the ground strap and not this new cost cutting design. BTW the install guide still has the V1 PMM.

I actually like the redesign AND the lower price. Just got this PMM... installed it yesterday. Out of all the PMM's I've tried, this is by far the best. The others sounded like a buzzsaw was in my glovebox above 3k RPM and rattled my mirror to $h!t. Noise is not much louder that the stock one I just swapped from. Had one slight rattle, only, upon install. But, after a 82 mile drive, that rattle is gone. I still hear a tad bit more engine. But I like it. Bcuz racecar.

I'll probably be selling my CS RMM and getting the DM RMM next. TMM to follow. :)

I've have DM's PMM on my 6 for a couple of months now and absolutely love it. Even with a BSD, RMM and FMM the NVH is super tolerable (to me at least). I've driven a 6 with all JBR mounts and a BSD and couldn't even use any of the rearview mirrors the vibes were so great, the DM mounts don't even come close to that with vibes. Seriously can't say enough good about their mounts!

I just had the PMM installed on my MS3. It is awesome, and it actually smoothed out the NVH that was created by having the CS Stage 2 RMM alone with stock PMM and TMM. I am very pleased as how firm my steering and suspension feels since the motor is not contributing to the NVH and torque steer, The only other suspension mod I have is the CS rear anti-sway bar installed.

Brand-new mount? If so, it'll break in and NVH will likely decrease even more.

Yep, right out of the box. Thanks for the prospect when it breaks in.
You may already know this, but with any engine mount, it's a good idea to get a torque wrench on there and re-torque everything to spec after 1,000 miles or so.

Assume nothing....30 years of teaching adults taught me this maxim. My good tech Drew has offered me this "off the record" adjustment already.

I really appreciate all of you here!

LOL. I assume the need to learn things. Many things are counterintuitive and must be taught.

I'm going to have to take your word and get this Damond PMM to reduce some NVH. My wife dislikes the NVH caused by the CS Stage 2 RMM after installing it last night. I just tell her.. "you'll get used to it"...lol.
