Deal, or NO deal?

Trust no used car. Supporting Metal Members get autocheck, so if you want to donate to MSO, we can see how many wrecks it was in before it was totaled in a flood after being repossessed.

Totally get it inspected no matter what. And what people ^^^^^^^ said.
Well Damn,
Which site did I already give $$$ to? Obviously, a different forum. That's a worthwhile investment, so I'll buy some Metal. Not before I get some clothing! ;)

Tbh op if i were in your position i would try to get a great deal on a blown up speed and get a edge autosports remaned block and fresh clutch and have fun for the next 100k miles. What are your long term goals? Romp around and sell after a few years or are you thinking long term speed ownership.

Second anyone who knows anything about speeds KNOWS 400whp on stock block is borrowed time.... that is unless its a forged rod car.
You are an idiot. Move along

Horsepower has nothing to do with rods. The rods can withstand a certain amount of torque. As long as torque does not exceed that number, the rods will not bend.

The life of a stock engine at high power levels is entirely dependent on usage. Stock cast pistons cannot handle high amounts of heat, or high amounts of knock. If all you are doing with the car is making a single drag strip pass (12-13 seconds? Barely anything) with a turbo this small, on E85, you are really not putting much stress on the engine.

Not necessarily, at least not according to @Realgib3 and lots of the folks he helps build/tune up in his area. He has guys running 500whp for 50k+ miles with no issues.

WHP really isn't the issue. WTQ is, especially where and how quickly it ramps up. And the heat generated by high WHP can be managed by craptons of alky, such as using methanol to get your extra fueling up to the 500whp level.

Edit: right on, @VTMongoose ; looks like you beat me to it, LOL.

Re: cash purchase; FWIW, my understanding is that dealerships don't always enjoy hearing "cash" because they know they'll be missing out on dem sweet, sweet finance charges. YMMV.

Good luck with the hunt!

If you're willing to pay cash for an acceptable price for both parties, and then they give you crap about not financing, you walk out. There is a high probability that they will stop you from leaving and accept your cash payment.

Well I think that goes without saying, to walk if they act like dickbags about any part of the deal. What I mean is that, based my understanding of things, they tend to be less likely to negotiate as far downward on the price when they know they won't be earning finance charges.

Sounds like a solid car.. I just got offered 7500 for my speed 3 for the second time and it's got issues.. I love it too much though :)
