Devils Own WMI kit question

I'm new to WMI, and I was looking at the Devils Own kits. On their website, they have two Stage 2 kits that I am interested in. One hooks up to the BAR Map sensor, the other hooks up via a boost tube. So one is electrical, and the other is mechanical I guess. Other than the way it hooks up, both kits are identical. What is everyone's preference?
 
What are your power goals? Going BT? I'm on an S3 myself spraying a CM10 on a boost-switch stage 1 Cooling Mist system. It works perfect. AFRs are on point. Progressive controllers aren't really necessary until >400whp, IMHO. Won't have to worry about that on a K04 or the mid-turbos, usually.

I'll be installing a BNR S4 when I do the meth kit install.

The boost hose operated kit is a little bit more money, and I'm just wonderinf if it's worth it. Would it be more accurate versus the electronic hook up to the BAR sensor.

Most people just used boost-referenced WMI systems. They work great, even for up to a CM10 spraying 100% methanol, like I use at my power level (390whp.)

If you're going to go over that with an S4, I'd go progressive controller that's boost-referenced. I'd probably recommend AEM, Cooling Mist, or Snow Performance over Devil's Own for the simple fact that a couple of Devil's Own controllers have gone wacky in the middle of the night and hydrolocked the motor with methanol. Apparently they're wired to a constant hot (instead of just a switched power source), so if they fail, it could be really bad.

I personally like Cooling Mist the most. Their Stage 2 controller looks like a digital boost gauge (with numbers, not a needle) and fits into a gauge pod. You can monitor boost with it too by leaving it in that setting mode, so bang-for-your-buck.

You run 100% methanol instead of a water/methanol mix? How do you inject it? I was thinking of going with Damond Motorsport's throttle body spacer and putting the injectors there.

Cooling mist kit is awesome, Definitely my top choice (not that I run meth...Yet) as for injection if you're tmic then a tap into your cold pipe is proven to be best. Fmic throttle body spacer seems to be the way to go. Unless you tap a boost tube

I've loved mine. Obviously the Aquamist HFS-4 is next-level, but the full-optioned CM setup is also very nice. Even their Stage 1 kit does everything I need it to flawlessly.

Im getting my kits all messed up, sorry been drinking, I'm partial to the snow performance stuff there controller fits in a pod as well. That HFS-4 is amazing

Can't speak to Snow from practical experience, but I hear good things. One thing I really like about the CM is the clear lines that lets you see fluid flowing/system priming, etc. But you can always get those lines and run them on any kit. They're a standard size, IIRC.
 
The guy from Edge Auto was trying to sell me on the AEM V2 kit over the Snow Performance. It looks pretty good, and @Redline mentioned it's a better kit than the Devils Own. It looks good to me, but I liked the Snow Performance controller/gauge option. Although, if I went that route, then I would need a way to mount the gauge too. My setup won't be too crazy, so I think I'll be ok with going with either kit. So maybe I'll go with the AEM kit (that is on sale and a little cheaper than the SP kit).
 
Yeah, that's what I meant, as an added cost on top of everything else. I went with the AEM V2 kit. My install weekend will be pretty good when I get everything in:
BNR S4 with new gaskets and studs
HTP 3.5" Intake System
AEM V2 WMI kit
Damond Motorsports Throttle Body Spacer
Attempt to clean valves
Being tuning with Hypnotic

That should be enough for a while.
 
Snow's nozzle holders / check valve combos freeze shut. Their non-gauge style controllers are impossible to set correctly. Their safe-injection is junk as it uses a turbine style flow meter which cannot withstand the pulsing pumps included in all injection kits. AEM's kit seems fine. Their controller is easy to set. However the WMI failsafe they still sells has the same exact problem as the snow safe-injection as it also uses the same turbine style flow meter.
 
FWIW, I`ve got the Coolingmist stage 2 progressive kit. Absolutely painless install (less a minor hiccup that had nothing to do with the install procedure) and so far it`s been doing great. Way too new to have any experience with reliability but their reviews are good. A little pricey but considering what the Aquamist install would have been like I`m perfectly happy with what I have.

Coolingmist w/ the failsafe box and progressive gauge style controller is what I run and it has never had an issue. Lex recommends Coolingmist as well as their failsafe actually works. It monitors pump voltage as to interpret rate of flow instead of actual rate of flow.

Apparently aquamist's install isn't so bad... just a ton of wiring. Aquamist also has pretty good support.
