Hey there, I'm dinnerplate. I'm 23, born and raised in Texas. I've got an 08 Mazdaspeed3 with a built bottom end (Manley Plats, turbo tuff H-beams, Ford timing system, Mountune crank, yada yada), working on going huge power.
I've had my speed for almost a year now, it was abandoned for 3 years in California before I swiped it up. It had just about every problem a speed can have: bad turbo, bad timing chain, clogged oil control rings, cylinder 4 was in chunks, I lived with misfires on every cylinder, bad PCV, had wasp nests in the intake, and to top it all off, it was left windows down, so it needed an interior. There was a bunch more, but those are big tickets, and I fixed it all up myself (including ripping the engine into atoms and putting it all back together). Needless to say, my speed is my baby. I was really looking for a project at the time, and project I got. I used to tell my best friend like 3 years ago that if I ever got a "hot hatch" it would be a Mazdaspeed3 or a Focus RS, and I don't know if you've seen RS prices lately, but I got my speed for $800.
Not sure what else to put here. I really only registered because I bought some RaiderFab latches, though I've known this place existed for a very long time, It's just I couldn't see the images on the installation thread without registering, so here I am.
