Disclaimer: I'm lazy so I'm just going to copy and paste this from the other forum!

Alright guys so I figured I should start this thread now so I'm not swamped later. When I first bought this car I had intended to remain mostly stock, and never even thought of a bigger turbo. But one night I ran into someone with a gen1 and we went at it for awhile and I lost every time. When we finally pulled over and starting talking the only mods he had differently was fuel pump internals and an intercooler, so we exchanged numbers and went about our night. That night I went home and ordered fuel pump internals and was convinced I was going to show him who the boss was next time around. Well weeks later we crossed paths again and I thought I was going to take him out but got swept yet again. This time around he had added a test pipe. This started the mod wars and our now awesome friendship. Slowly I caved and bought some more bolt on's in an attempt to beat him but he was always one step ahead of me and so I got bit by that special bug. I decided a bigger turbo was in order and had decided the corksport or BNR s3 because I didn't want to build. Well, then the s4 happened. Damn you BNR. So far for this build I have gathered, a block (previously owned by @MATT DAMOND; still needs to be cleaned and honed), weisco pistons, k1 rods, COBB ebcs, KW v3 coilovers, HTP 3.5" intake, Corksport battery box, Corksport 3.5" MAP sensor, a crank, and some little other things. The s4 is coming in March as a 21st birthday present to myself. I'll be updating this thread as more parts come in. All tuning will be provided by my man @Justin@Freektune; He in my opinion is hands down the best tuner for our platform.
Current mods: JBR trilogy (will be replaced with DM)
Depo racing downpipe
Cpe top mount IC
JBR intake & TIP
Autotech HPFP
GFB hybrid bpv
Custom catback
JBR short shifter
KW v3 coilovers
DM OCC
Freektune
245/40/18 tires
Step chilly plugs
As I build the bottom end I will post up a how to thread as well for anyone wanting to see it done and to get some more info up!

I'll be watching to see how this goes. Since your in Illinois I'll be interested in what shops get involved. Did you pick a shop to do the machine work yet? Also did you find a good place to do alignment in the area after your coils went on?

Machine shop I'm still shopping for because I want it to be someone I can trust and not fuck up my block so it needs to be bored out. I have oem size Pistons so the last thing I need is for them to screw it up have to bore it out then I gotta buy new Pistons. Alignment wise just Firestone because lifetime alignments for $120 I always ask
For a before print out and a after print out of the specs and if I don't like it I ask them to fix it

didn't realize firestone had lifetime alignments. The lowered car didn't bother them? A lot of chains seem confounded by a lowered car.

Did they let you specify your own numbers?

Na the lowered car didn't bother them. I didn't try to specify my numbers but I'm sure they would let me. I just look at the after sheet to make sure they did a good job
[doublepost=1458055665][/doublepost]Quick update everyone, after calling around to about 12 different shops I think I found one I like (micron engine and machine) to clean and hone my block as well as polish the crank. Should be dropping it off Thursday so I'll be starting the bottom end build soon enough.

Nope. It's lifetime for a reason

Found my alignment print out if anyone was curious how Firestone does with lowered cars.

Sweet. I'm not lowered but have been thinking about going with Firestone lifetime. Are the values on the sheet the values from the computer or values you gave them? Guessing they are the computer values, but they actually worked to your specs because it looks like they got it a lot tighter than the sheet implies is required.

I had mine aligned at Firestone, they did a pretty good job and even adjusted my SPC camber arms. They did, however, scratch up my camber plates and shock towers, even though I explained repeatedly how they worked.
I have a little more cross camber in the rear than I'd like, so I may tweak on the rear and then have then recheck it.

I bought the lifetime alignment. They said they would align anytime I changed parts or ride height, just being it back.

Sweet. The case for Firestone is getting stronger. :)
Maybe not. I realized today they did more than scratch up my camber plates. They managed to de-torque the strut fixing bolt and that's why I have mad squeaks now. I don't currently have the right tools to fix that either right now.

Sounds about right for Firestone. They put the bolt for the adjuster of one of my camber arms in backwards and it was hitting the control arm under compression. They also didn't tighten the other camber bolt adjuster. I had to stand there while they had their tech fix it. He complained the whole time about how shitty the other guy did, but mentioned that's what they get when they pay crap and don't train anybody.

tapatalk, it sucks

Yeah that is the way of things these days. Unfortunately, since I live in BFE, my options are limited. I HATE letting anyone else but me or NATOR touch my car, but I can't afford an alignment rack, or a tire balancer, so there are some things I have to leave to others. [emoji29]
