Do we have any full on dedicated track ms3’s here?

I’m curious on how much of a pain in the ass these cars turn into when you go all out and turn them into dedicated time attack cars. Do you we have anyone with experience here?

It’s not the car you’re looking for if you want to be competitive in any series. It’s just too heavy and doesn’t have the aftermarket something like a brz or a civic has.

I’ve had everyone I’ve ever met ask me why the car isn’t gutted and caged yet. It’s just not the car for that. The way classing works it’s always out gunned and even if you can make a reliable 500whp to lap with, that k series civic over there is making 600whp and weighs 1800lbs. Ask me how I know lol.

***have been building and tracking the car for 4 years now, have also competed locally. Classing always fucks me***

what’s your suspension set up?

Bilstein b16’s. They come with 7k rates front and rear. They feel fantastic. Corksport camber plates up front. -3* front -1.25* rear camber, 0 toe. White line rsb. The only way I could go further would be to have someone like fatcat rebuild and revalve my dampers. Otherwise there’s nothing else worth spending money on coilovers wise for this platform. Unless you have JRZ money.

I’m on kw v3’s. They feel pretty solid on track. Front and rear hotchkis bars too

So there’s not much more you can do unless you go to JRZ’s. It’s a fun car to track. I love going and surprising everyone. But in a competitive scene where people want to WIN, there is no place for Mazdaspeed 3/6.

if you’re looking to dial the car in further however, you should really get adjustable camber bits on the car if you haven’t already and get a proper alignment dialed in. That alone makes a huge difference.

Yea it has camber plates up front and adjustable arms in the rear. It surprises people, but it’s totally invisible. When I show up in the f100 it’s an instant fan favorite….the ms3 goes under the radar lol.
