@nindoja; drove from Alabama to Chicago.

Tapping from surgery suite!
You say this like that's our longest trek for an epic meet. AL folks regularly have traveled 12+ hours to either Michigan or DC for epic meets.

Ouch. But Im getting to old for this road warrior business. And I dont trust my car to go that long by itself without some sort of support crew. Its a finicky bitch and hasnt been more than 3 hours from home in years.

I heard this brother. Cheers to way overly modified vehicles.
Sounds like @HawkeyeGeoff could be your support crew? Link up with the Chicago people on the way down for extra crew. Problem solved!

I'd accompany 'im but probably heading down earlier in the week. We are considering doing Six Gap and Moonshiner 28 Wednesday and Thursday, not necessarily in that order and not necessarily even both. If others may be interested in joining post up or PM.

Done Six Gap on a bicycle and in the car. It's a blast either way.

I've driven from Alabama to Pennsylvania and back before, 18 hours each way. Longest drive I've ever made. I have a 5 hour drive one way to the Dragon so not too bad.

About 10 hours for me to the Dragon, won't have a convoy this year, so it will be boring. I will; however, be able to breathe, as I won't be drafting soot blowing mazdaspeeds.

Exactly why I bought a truck and trailer ;) It's an eight hour drive for me, though I will have my wife and dog to keep me company...which could be a good thing or bad thing I guess. The dog will be good for company, my wife (who will most likely sleep the whole drive) will have to be good for support crew hahahaha.

Honestly the drive doesn't scare me that much. I've done plenty of 20 or more hour drives. Part of it is the stress of getting my car ready, and then taking it on a long trip after working on it all winter. It's currently not in driving condiditon, and needs some work to get there. I'm behind and am not a fan of scrambling to finish.

I figure I can head down in the fall with a nator mi convoy. My car better be ready by then. I will get there at some point for sure

I really don't want to buy a set of walkies just for this one trip each year, so if anyone has an extra they aren't using, I would appreciate using it over that weekend.
