Ok guys its that time again! Epic Nator Meet!

This year's meet will again be at Tail of the Dragon w/ Mazda Dragon Camp. Feedback was that everyone had a blast last year so sticking with it agian this year. Turnout was great for the first year here. Everyone was very well behaved and Im sure the community will be happy to have us back. Plans for a can food drive should be in the works again as well.

This post will be updated with information as it becomes available. Get on the hype train and spread the word!

3PM: Arrival/Check in
5PM: Weenie Roast with MDC. Will be setting up "local beer" sampling during this. We had a great showing last time for the weenie roast !Friday night will be our rain-check for this.

**DDs WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT BACK TO THE HOTEL**
**CARPOOLING IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED**

Friday April 22
8AM and 10 AM will have group runs over the Skyway and Bald River Falls for individual photos of cars at the falls. Makes for a great drive, as well as great pics! The Cherohala Skyway, a National Scenic Byway

Then into groups and check out the dragon, Cherohala skyway and hellbender 28 to Fontana Dam!

The wife caught wind I was considering the trip and has all but thrown me out of the house that weekend. I need to get my shit together, get money in and signed up or I might be abused by the wif.

for the ppl that wasnt at ENM last year or in general. anybody thats going to the dragon I highly recommend grabbing a baofeng UV-5r walkie talkie. these radios will do 5 watts out the box which i was able to talk to ppl 2-3 miles away with this radio where everybody else was cutting at 1/2 mile.

Get the programming cable and let me know I can email you all the preprogrammed frequencies for the radio

Yes the radio must be programmed for the channels u want to use

 

Is it difficult? Like is there an easy how to somewhere. I might go ahead and order one if you say it has more range than most

 

These are very popular and well reviewed with the off road crowd and there are a number of HAM forums out there with all kinds if good info on getting these setup and programming them.

As mentioned these units are a HAM radio and one is supposed to have the proper license to operate them. That said I have yet to see anyone without a license get busted.

 

Reserved a room at the Phillips Motel for $69/night w/ taxes, but may try and check out if anything else is available short of tenting it. Now just need to get dinner, shirt and raffle paid for.

If you are going to ENM and have not ordered up dinner, please do so. If numbers are still low, it may need to be canceled and the raffle done at the hotel. This would be a disappointment for us,Nator, Dragon Camp, and the city and charity.

I thought the consensus was not to post events on the calendar to prevent TN police from putting Extra patrols on the dragon...


I also ordered a new set of wireless mics which should work better than my old set that didn't work last yr lol

 

I never publicly post about dragon camp. I just let Darryl know when we will be in town.
