Forum 2.0 glitches, change requests etc

12 hr rule before never worked for posting in same thread. no one's bumping there stuff to the top if they do I merge it and notify which is rare. providing multiple updates especially on troubleshooting threads with time zone differences can be beneficial heck I've done it on my own as I'm going through finding stuff out as it's more of a live feed. I can see 30 min-1hr but 12hrs is not needed

It's already been dialed back a bit. It's currently 12 hours for greenie members and disabled for metal members.

also I've now realized that the mod function to merge posts is missing. can't even merge my own posts figured I could hence the multiple replies when I noticed chat changes

Glad to hear it's working!

It looks like you have permission to merge posts. You check the box next to two or more posts by the same user then click the actions menu and the last option is the merge option.

The bump limit has been disabled for everyone. We're going to monitor it and re-enable if there's any abuse.

That's a great point. It looks like all of the permissions and settings for that were lost in the upgrade.

It should be set up properly again now. When users first join, they are a Greenie N00B Member and have limited permissions, like bump limits and cannot PM. Once they have some posts, they are automatically switched to Greenie Member where they can PM and there's no bump limit.

If any greenies would like to test out the forum and let me know how the permissions look, that would be great! @gotovato

Default avatars are back again now too. That was wiped out with the new theme.
