Full shifter assembly

We all know that TWM was the only company to manufacture a full shifter replacement for the speeds. Until recently, KND released a drag race shift tower with cables. That's great for those who's cars are track only.

For those of us who daily drive/weekend trips/sprited driving/racing/road legal cars, that's no good.

I have been discussing the possibility of reverse engineering the TWM and possibly making it better (if that's even possible). I am not a parts manufacturer, but an enthusiast just like the majority of you. However, I see a need for things, this being one of them, and I want to find a solution.

Over the years I've tried to get my hands on a TWM shifter assembly, and has been nearly impossible as they sell almost immediately, and I'm not online enough to see them go for sale when they do.

So, asking the community these questions with the understanding that this isn't something that can happen fast. But it is something that can hall.

A. Is there a demand enough for this?
B. Is anyone interested in helping?
C. Who, if anyone, would be willing to lend their shifters for short period of time, I woke cover shipping both ways.

Small talk with @jsmith and @Mtnbker3531 has pushed this topic to light a little more than I expected at this point in time as I have other things in the works.

Edit: I'm sure @Matt@DM is probably interested in this topic as well.

Discuss.

When you add in the extension, shift knob and boot and what not it adds up. I think mine was closer to 7-$800.

I don't use Facebook so I never know what is going on

Well, I fuckin hate it. You miss a ton unfortunately. Trying to push everyone here.

But, I am shocked nobody has really tried to build a shifter yet. For how long these cars have been around. You would think this would have been done already.
