GB Remanufacturing (Rock Auto) fuel injector rebuild kit

Sorry to bump an old thread.
Ill be cleaning my intake valves soon, and also wanted to pull the injectors and replace the seals due to some issues I think are related to the seals leaking. With that said, are those rock auto seals still going strong? I really don't feel like splurging on CS seals right now, so this seems like a viable option at the moment.

Yes, the top section seals I replaced are still good (the portion of the injector that goes into the fuel rail).

I have upgraded seals for the portion that goes into the head. This rebuild kit is only good for the o rings on the top of the injector. These are not an alternative for upgraded seals like CS and Overspeed seals.

Gotcha, definitely misread. Apologies! Looks like I'll just bite the bullet and spend on the CS seals.
I've got a buddy who can sell me some used ones that he had for a short time, but I'm hesitant to reuse these seals, as they're meant to be a 1 time use.

Don't re use the seals I'd put money of them leaking go ahead and buy new overspeed seals

Appreciate the input! I wont be reusing them! I'll likely go with CS seal though, they are cheaper right now. Comes to like $265 CAD after shipping and taxes.

You might want to look at replacing the intake manifold gasket with an AP one while you are there unless you have a fresh gasket. HERE not cheap but you can re-use it multiple times and it won't leak.

I've certainly got the time. Currently just driving my winter beater, so no rush. I'll take a look at replacing the gasket as well, appreciate that. I'm excited to just work on the car, its been a while. I'll have to make a decision soon about what I'm going to do with the seals.. I'd very much like to get the car on the road sooner than later. lol

I read his reply more as "can I use these as a substitute for CS type seals", for a power application.

No idea if those ones last, I don't see why they wouldn't. I'm more of a if you're in there, might as well upgrade it off the rip kind of guy. I'd just hate to see you install those ones and they end up failing sooner than later.

That's my fear right now, but like i mentioned, I'm not too concerned if I need to replace them in a season or two. I've got full bolt ons with a tune, so i'm not pushing any crazy power... heck, the car RARELY see's anything over like 8psi of boost. lol

I'm in Canada as well, hit up graveyard performance mso5 for 5% off shipping was cheaper than CS and I only paid duties on 70$ and I had 4 sets in the order along with injector studs and hpfp rebuild kits

Not about what's cheaper unfortunately CS seals seems to have reports of leaking lately most seem to be jumping to overspeed seals when the time comes.

Regardless, I'll keep this thread updated with whatever I choose to do over the next few weeks. I'll also update at a later date if I run the Rock auto seals.

Contacted OSS motorsport. Quoted me 278+ Tax for the CS seals, essentially the same as going through CS directly. However, you never know what kind of broker fees you'll get hit with when ordering straight from CS. UPS hammered me with an additional 60$ broker fee upon pick up, on top of my shipping cost when i ordered my hood scoop. So if i do go with the CS seals, i'll be going through OSS.

Just got these in, all of the black spacers have splits in them there must have been a revision.

Anyone got pics of the orientation that they go on the injectors, OP has the order but no orientation?

I had mine cleaned, never took previous ones off, hoping orientation didn't get messed up by guy who cleaned them BUT I pinched the shit out of the blue seals when putting the rail on despite lubing them and seating the rail so I want to be sure.

My Rockauto injector kits arrived so I decided to clean up and put the new goodies on them. Thanks @KiwiFlavor for the cleaned injectors , love you long time. Here is a quick guide on how all the seals sit.

This is the order they go onto the injector , these are old bits but you get the idea.

The concave part of the rings go down toward the injector bottom you can see how the injector is concave and they sit nicely in the groove.

Here is a finished injector with CS Seal.

That's all for now, just have to keep plugging away at little things.

Ok guys, i went with stock seals and used the GB kit for the rest of the upper seals. Got my valves nice and clean, but MAN the injectors. F*$K me were they hard to get out. Using CS slide hammer still took almost two hours to get all 4 out. Horrible. But everything went well, no problems other than the injector removal.

Car is no longer having brutal cold starts with misfires, so that's great! Still seems a little jumpy on cold start and idling, but I just ordered some new plugs, so I'm thinking that will solve that problem. It didn't look like my seals were leaking much though, so I'm honestly not sure what was causing the brutal cold start problems, but it seems to be related to the seals, since all i did was clean the valves and swap seals.
