Grounding issue or not?

I have been diagnosing a possible electrical problem and started testing grounds in the engine. One thing was curious:

I get a nice continuity ‘beep’ from the ground wire in the top left corner of the photo to the power steering pump as shown:



But I don’t get a continuity beep to what I’m guessing is the ground on the power steering pump:



I cleaned that connector with some deoxit though there was no difference.

Is that a ground point? Should I be expecting to have continuity there to the other ground point or negative on the battery?

Good question. Wonder what the sensor is connected with

Raider, do you mean my multimeter? If so, there’s the ground wire over by the engine mount and I ran a black wire from there to one of the probes on my multimeter. Then I was just touching points to determine continuity and noticed that issue with what I thought was another ground point (as pictured).

That is your power steering pressure switch i believe. Continuity happens when pressure is introduced in the power steering system so if you put one lead on ground and an other on that terminal and turn your wheels, you should see power going through. When your wheels are strait it should have no power.

EDIT: just looked at the wiring diagram, looks like this terminal is grounded when the wheels are turned.
