Help buying a ms3

I want to buy a 1st gen speed3. I know they’re older cars and I don’t have a crap ton of money. I’ve been considering 2 options which are either buying one with around 100k miles on it or buying one with around 150-170k miles on it and swapping that engine for another one with 50-60k miles on it. I’m also trying to find a platform to find on. My best luck has been fb marketplace but if anyone has any other suggestions it helps a lot.

If you have the means to swap a motor, and you have another car, I would personally find a blown up one for really cheap and buy a built motor from Overspeed or build your own to save a lot. Around 5k for the motor, ive seen very clean gen2 rollers for 1500ish not sure about gen1.

Thanks man you know some platforms where I could find chassis with a blown engine?

offerup, Facebook marketplace/groups and Craigslist. Mazdaspeedpartout on Instagram is where I saw the clean gen2 shell for 1500ish. Not sure if it’s still available
