How to DIY an EBCS

Figured I would do a quick write up on how to make your own EBCS since I don’t think there is one on here. Don’t go spending all sorts of money on a Cobb one that is literally the same thing with a custom sticker (unless you really like custom labels)

Depending on where you find your valve (can usually be found under $20 each at the time of writing this), and if you want to order a connector plus fittings, you can do this for less than $30.

First up, the valve. The same one that just about everyone uses is a MAC valve part number: 35A-AAA-DDBA-1BA. You can get these on ebay and amazon, or if you can, find a local distributor and likely get them cheaper.

The connector can be done two ways. The free way, is to take your old EBCS and cut the connector off the connector and solder it on. You can also order the correct connector from Ballenger motorsports if you want (part number: CONN-85730) Right now about $8+ shipping. The wires are non polarized, so don’t worry about getting the right ones to each other, it doesn’t matter. Just make sure you use heat shrink and have a solid connection.

Lastly you need some fittings; I always just used some brass hose barbs. The valve is 1/8 NPT and I like to use ¼” hose, but I think you can get smaller too. Mcmaster and amazon are probably the place to go to find barb fittings for this.

Hopefully this helps some people out. Its easy to do, and is way cheaper than spending the $80 or whatever on a cobb EBCS which is the exact same thing.
