Intermittent loss of power steering

Very randomly occurs and don't do anything in specific to duplicate concern



About 3 months ago I had a similar issue where the cabin interior would shut off and the car died. Found the battery was charging at 14.3v but would die when steering. Found the alternator to essentially overheating and cutting off as a safety measure. Replaced the alternator and battery was it worked for 3 months. This morning I lost power steering for about 2 minutes then it came back on, no interior lights shut off, radio and ac stayed on. I am hoping it is not the electric pump/module but I do know that the fluid has never been done. I plan on checking and flushing the fluid today and checking ground G05 which I know is a direct chassis ground for the EHPAS module. Is there anything else you guys would recommend checking or just starting with this?

I had a similar issue a couple months back, and it turned out to be my battery just being on its way out. I see that you replaced your battery and alternator already, but are you sure that there isn't something that could be a parasitic draw on the battery and killing it prematurely? I agree with checking the state of the chassis ground and flushing the fluid as good steps as well.

I will do a battery check when I pull it into the shop, the one thing I forgot to mention is that I run a 51r battery but that shouldnt really be a concern
 
If you have an accessport, I’d try to put battery voltage on the screen and then just sit with the car running and try doing different things with the electronics while taking a log. Stuff like steering, raising/lowering handbrake, on/off clutch pedal, turn signals, wipers, etc just to see if anything is creating a large split second voltage drop. Could give a hint as to whether it’s *only* the power steering or if it’s more global with the electronics
