Internals going out?

So im driving down H-24 and a cobolt ss runs up next to me and starts being a douche and reving next to me. We go at it from a 60 roll. After i dropped to 3rd and started to go i lost power for 1/2 a sec and then it was back as if i had fuel cut. When i got power back i shot a black cloud out my exhaust. It did this threw 5th (wasnt a need to go to 6th as i had already pulled bus lengths on the colbolt) all at arount 4500-5000 rpm after shift. It did not do it twice per gear. Are my internals starting to fail? I only ask because if my internals are going wouldnt it start cutting out more then once past 4500rpm?
 
I've seen shit like that from a failing primary O2. Get the AP and logs. Order up a good eTune too.
 
My primary 02 sensor did go out last week, been looking around for one that wont cost me 200ish. My ap will be in tomorrow so ill be able to log. It might stop after the stage 2 ots map cobb offers.
Also im running cpe downpipe, hks catback, ets topmount intercooler, corksport stage II intake, autotech internals, cobb short shifter, and all motor mounts.

I do not understand the point in posting useless posts like this. I do not have an ap at this very moment it will not come in till tomorrow. I wanted to get the opinion of the guys who have been around the block with these cars. All mods were already on the car when i bought it. Ive been driving it daily for 6 months and no issues. This is why i asked if it sounded like the internals were going bad because i had no way to moniter. I wanted to get a rough idea so i dont put an ots map on a car with failing internals. @Raider was very helpful with his post as my o2 did go out last week.

Replace the sensor, then marry AP, look for a tune. OTS maps are like installing herpes on your girlfriend.

Are you driving on a dead o2 sensor while looking for cheaper replacements?

As i am a marine and i work night crew and live 35 min away from base while my wife works 9am to 5pm and i for 3pm to 2am, i have no other vehicle so i have to drive with a dead o2 sensor.
 
i got my primary o2 sensor for 133 bucks. I then found it on Amazon for 123 bucks.

Thank you for the find. My car will be going i to the body shop for bumper and hood replacement (truck backed into my car on tuesday) on july 13th. While its in the shop i get a rental car for free so ill use the gas money i save for that half of the month to buy one.

I swear Amazon has one for $60 that is good to go
 
I found a used one for 65 on ebay, but its iffy due to the fact that it came off a part out speed that had a front end collision.
