Is it normal to burn oil on a freshly built motor?

I can’t spot any leaks, just finished building the motor, I’m really hoping it’s just that the rings have not yet completely set. Is this normal?

I see you have a few open questions on valve timing, and no build data. We will need more information on build, mileage, oil use, compression (I prefer leakdown) and modifications.
More information will allow others to give better feedback on your posts question.
