Key fob eating batteries?

Anyone have an issue with their key fob running through batteries? I changed mine in one fob maybe two months ago? I don’t drive the car daily or really use the fob for locking/unlocking. It’s just in my pocket to start the car.

Today I got a ‘battery low’ message. These were brand new batteries purchased locally so I could ensure a good expiration date.

I didn’t have to change batteries in these for the first three years or so. Seems off to me.

i get that message once in a while. batteries still seem to last a year. Just get a 10 pack on amazon to stock anyway. it's cheap

Wondering if a button is being pushed down while in your pocket?

I did that and thought perhaps I got an old batch. Maybe not.

Unlikely due to how it sits in there. And I don’t wear tight pants. Both fobs seem to run short nowadays tho. I ignored the message for awhile as well and not long after one legit died.

thats just the price to play with those, the car and fob are constantly sending signals looking for each other. as far as one battery you could have gotten an old pack or just low quality ones. in my non keyless entry remote i can say that the factory battery lasted longer than pretty much any of the other ones.

We install Interstate buttons at my dealer when the fob battery goes. Year and a half to 2 years is good. Are you installing off brand or a good name? If

Maxwell. I’ll try Energizer and see what happens.
