Has anyone run the Kumho Ecsta PS31?
I am looking for some feedback and haven't found much as of yet.

I plan on using this as a track tire.

If you are looking for a track tire, you are going to want something a lot more aggressive than that. That tire has a 400 tread wear, and is not going to have the grip you want if you are trying to track it. You need to look at something closer to the 200 tread wear area.

Are you set on Kuhmo? do you have any class restrictions? what size tires? what kind of racing?

Mostly just timed runs for now to put the car out on track.
Running a 225/40 18.
Not set on kumho just wanted to get some opinions

Are you looking for streetable tires as well? I run the hankook RS3 as my daily tire, I really like it a lot. Awesome grip and traction, but leaves something to be desired in heavy rain.

My track tires are Kuhmo XS which also are pretty good tires at a nice price point. Either way you are going to want to look for a UTQG of close to 200 if you are looking for grip. At stock power levels, you might be able to take that number up a bit higher. Depends on your price point too. How much are you looking to spend?

for a dedicated track tire that you can drive home on, I would recommend the Dunlop Dizzera star spec's. If you want them to track and DD I would recommend the Toyo Proxy R1R's

I've got a set of tires that I use for DD. These would strictly be a track tire

I am trying to stay under $600 for a set.

I looked at the Hankook's and was impressed with the reviews. The only consistent negative feedback received was the life of the tire which doesn't bother me since it would be strictly a track tire.

I have not made a decision just yet but have definitely added the Hankook's to my list.

Yeah as traction goes up, life goes down. Its the trade off.

That said, my Kuhmo XS have probably 5 HPDE days on them and still have life left. Not a ton, but I plan to get another day or two out of them.

Exactly. I'm still doing some research but I appreciate the input.

I am hoping to have a set on order by the end of the month. Good news is, there is a tire rack DC about 30-40 mins from me so having the option to pick up is fantastic.

Tire rack is about 40 min from me as well, but remember if you pick up, you have to pay sales tax. When I have them shipped from Indiana to Michigan, its actually cheaper than going to Tire Rack to pick them up.

I did not know that.
I had my shipped last time because I couldn't make the pickup.

We ran the Hankooks and they handled as well as the Starspecs and didn't last nearly as long

I have the kumho ecsta v729. They're holding down the bnrs4 power better than the pss. Only $132 a tire. Not sure about wear yet though
