Hello all, just wanted to start off by saying that I've viewed the forum and sometimes reference threads and posts for relative information when it came to MS6 things. Last forums I've ever joined was NewTiburon forum back in 2014 and Niketalk(for my sneakerheads out there lol) back in 2009ish.
Other than that, as for myself I am a dealer technician at Mazda. Career started back in 2015/16 and started as a Ford express/hourly technician part time while going to automotive tradeschool. A year later I began an apprenticeship under a Mazda technician and did that for a year and a half. He jumped ship and went over to Ford but now with enough experience and training, I started the flat rate life....which can be great and very shit. Been doing it ever since and in January, I finally completed my Master Mazda Technician Certification. Took way too long( life, covid, etc)
For the MS6 - really dont know where to start as Im realizing I've owned my Mazdaspeed6 for nearly 8 years and with that, it feels like all the mods, repairs, diagnostic troubleshooting, the ups and downs can be blurry in memory. Like right now, I can't remember when I installed my CS turboback exhaust the first time, then when it got torn off by a manhole, then when I had to buy a new catback again. This may be a build diary/intro haha.
Became the owner of my BCM MS6 back in the summer of 2017. First ever car that I had purchased and registered/insured in my name. Prior, while I was working, an Evo X came up for sale at my job. Long story short, insurance rate for a first time owner/registered driver would've been higher than my monthly payments for the car. While browsing around Craigslist( damn im old) I saw an listing for a Mazdaspeed6 - elderly man driven with 72k miles - at the time, I really didn't know much about the speed6 as the only mazdas that really came to mind were the ms3, rotaries and miatas. Figured, shit I work at Mazda, ill take a look. Loved the panda interior and how "mature" the overall feel was. Was able to get it home within the week.
Now we fast forward to covid years. Late 2019 while the world was at a standstill, my MS6 began eating oil haha. I was able to get by for close to a year or so with a restricter bolt on the turbo(that was on its way out too) and by switching to Rotella t40. Then unfortunately - this makes it sad, during the wake of a friend and coworker, leaving the resturant i get hit while parked.
What made an already sad and unfortunate day overwhelming was that otw to a gathering after the wake and burial services the engine ZZB. Honestly, with how the day was, i was oddly at peace. Maybe my friend was watching up from the clouds screaming at me to send it and started laughing about it once it went kaput

When life gives you lemons, you squeeze them into your enemies eyes. All jokes aside, a few weeks after the events, and searching for used engines, wether to go built blah blah blah. I figured I'd just use my resources and begin fresh and just rack up for bolt ons while the car is down. I was able to get a brand new engine directly from Mazda through work albeit i probably wouldn't have a paycheck for a couple months. I did have the upgraded CS TMIC, CST4 and the CS turboback exhaust on. I was tuned by Will at PD but I remember him saying that the TMIC wasn't efficient enough and suggested i go FMIC.

During the install, as me and they guys were dropping the motor and trans assembly into the vehicle, the FUCKIJG CRANE FAILS WHILE MY HANDS ARE LINING UP THE PASSENGER MOUNT. Luckily, my spider senses tingled and was able to pull out faster than a man dodging child support. Unfortunately the assembly had crushed the power steering line on the front of the cross member which prompted a DM front PS cooler upgrade! More parts baby.
Once all back together, I wanted to perform a break in process and make sure rings and such were good. Brand new motor didn't come with a drip of oil. Also had bought a new clutch, flywheel, all injectors and other miscellaneous things I can't remember. Had reached out to will and began retuning. All went well till it didn't lol. At some point I had cross connectors from my EBCS connector and a connector that sits behind the hpfp that I can't remember the name of. It's some resistor or relay? But that switch up had me seeing 31pds of boost which to some is awesome but to someone who's under built YIKES. So tuning continues or starts again but this is when cobb does the whole GreenSpeed thingy. Because my of my emissions regs and paranoia of CELs, I had to reinstall my EGR and remove the block off plate. After that, tuning was completed and have been the same car ever since......said no body. Through the years of ownership and learning the ins and outs of car modifications, lots of parts have broken, been replaced due to upgrades, etc. Just this year, ive replaced my Tcase and front rack. The only things ive added since are probably new front coils from H&R to replace my worn fronts, CS front big calipers, Enkei Nt03s, Whiteline RSB and maintenance items.
Sorry for the long intro guys. There's still plenty of things ive omitted since I dont know if this over steps the rules for an intro but ive owned the car for so long that a brief intro just wouldn't do me or the car justice. Ill leave some miscellaneous pics for some context.
