Mazda leaks fuel at lower fuel line

Hi,

We replaced the fuel pump on our 2008 Mazda 3 Hatchback and while putting it back together and starting the engine we noticed it was dripping fuel by the lower fuel line that clips onto the metal fuel line that goes up to the engine. I then ordered a new lower fuel line part number BP4K4261X. Part came and we installed but it is still leaking fuel.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Maybe extra o-ring some fuel proof tape to get extra seal?

Here is the image of the connector. The top one is the old and bottom is the new one.

And also, is there a way to remove the fuel pressure? Right now it just gushes out when disconnecting fuel lines.

Thanks

This forum is for mazdaspeeds and they are just different enough that you aren't going to find much specific knowledge related to the standard 3 here

That said holding pulling the fuel pump fuse and trying to start the car should relieve the pressure though you will still have the fuel in the line dripping out but at least not spraying everywhere

Look at the metal line that this piece clips into it could be split of have damage at the junction
