Mazdaspeed engine build

Hey guys! not new to Mazdaspeeds but new here! So I apologize if there is already a thread on this. I used to have a 09 speed 3 that I enjoyed building and driving but unfortunately had to sell when my kids came along. I recently came along a 06 Speed 6 that has a spun bearing. I have the block refreshed and ready to install, but is there specs for head bolt tightening, cam caps, timing marks, etc? I have the timing plates and all other tools needed to do job. Anything helps!

This is a copy and paste from that other forum...

So I took the time to pull a bunch of engine torque specs from all-data. Enjoy, and let me know if you need any more and I can try and dig them up!

HEAD

Loosening order:

(I personally recommend a few loosening steps)
Tightening order:

Step 1: 3-11 Nm (27-97 in-lbf)
Step 2: 13-17 Nm (116-150 in-lbf)
Step 3: 43-47 Nm (32-34 ft-lbf)
Step 4: 88°-92°...

Also it didn’t take more than a few minutes of searching to find a PDF of the two FSM’s for a Speed6 when I got mine. If for some reason you are having trouble finding these for free I believe this forum, like many others, has them available for donating members somewhere on the site.

Good luck with the build! I put off my engine build since mines still running pretty good, but I always have an actual FSM on hand when building an engine because sometimes the forums have typos or wrong info, or different values if you are using aftermarket parts, and I like to cross reference.

Archived from the old forum. Original Author is not around to my knowledge. @Raider and I have discussed this many times over the years, I finally found a way to get some threads but not all.

This is what I feel is Lost information that we have needed back for a long time.

So, Copy paste upload here we go

Prepare your workstation and put the block onto the engine stand.

Lay everything out neatly so you know where it goes. By the end of the assembly, your shit will be everywhere but at least you tried, right?




Grab the oil squirters and attach...
