Motor Break-In Methods/Theories

When you increase flow with things like cams and head work you will flow more air at lower boost numbers. 33psi looks cool on paper, but boost numbers really don't mean anything. It's the airflow that matters. This is nothing against @VoodooJef 's build or anything. He's making good power for a lot of miles now, but don't get hung up on boost numbers. If I were you I probably wouldn't even mess with regrinds. I ended up wasting a couple hundred bucks before just going with the CS cams.

Ethanol is wonderful and you should run a blend if it's available near you.
Thanks for the advice. Maybe I will put the money from the regrind towards a little more extensive port and polish job instead since I can’t really afford the CS cams. I am currently trying to talk a gas station owner into getting E85 but he says there is several “hoops” to go through if he tries to. He said he would have to put it in the fuel tank his 93 octane is currently in. Maybe I can talk him into switching it over after my build!

That's 100% true. 25psi on a K04 is a lot different from 25psi on a 6062!

5th/6th port setups are easy enough and convenient and are an answer when folks don't want to do a methanol setup. I went with methanol because it's the great equalizer when it comes to heat and, well, Texas and all. I'm running four injectors direct at each intake port (DM Focus ST manifold setup) and one nozzle in a throttle body plate (the IAT sensor will never see the methanol injected at the port so it'll never understand boost temps could be much lower than it's reading, hence the one at the TB. Plus the debatable benefit of better atomizing)

Yeah different frame turbos definitely make different power at same boost levels. So are you running the 6062? Also how much does it cost to run the ST mani and Methanol setup? I just don’t know if I would like having to buy gas and meth both. What meth % could I run it the winter here in Indiana and not freeze up everything?

Alcohol doesn't freeze, my man. Send it.

Also, answered most of your questions in a PM to not further hijack the thread
