I’m setting up my CrackSpeed3 for the upcoming 200 meter drag race tournament next month. Been working on setting up the following:
1. Current suspension has Blitz ZZR coilovers - raised the rear up to max allowable and it’s still a bit too low. Will be swapping out the garbage 4kg 180mm springs to 210mm 8kg - need to raise and stiffen up the rear to keep the front end planted.
2. Just slapped on a pair of 265/35/18 drag radials and zero’d out the camber. Glad the ZZR coilovers came with adjustable camber plates
3. Engine mounts - just installed JBR 88 Track/strip rear/passenger and transmission mounts. Jeezus all that noise So much more solid on the launch, the street vibrations and noise don’t bother me at all
4. Exhaust - waiting on the CS front 3.5” down pipe. I will be fabbing up my own 3.5” exhaust and soon as the DP arrives.
5. Fuel - installed the CS HPFP internals
6. Intercooler - waiting both JBR intercooler piping. Will be using a Greddy Type R FMIC that I had laying around in the garage.
7. Intake - ordered a Cobb turbo inlet pipe
8. Pending install of the following parts: EGR delete, balance shaft delete/baffle plate.
9. Boost Control: HKS EVC7 and CS 3.5 bar MAP sensor
10. ECU Tuning - Cobb V3 Accessport
11. Fuel grade - one of my local gas station carries 103 RON rated pump gas for about $1.10 a liter
12. Methanol, this will be tested out once I get everything sorted with the above states mods. Got an AEM Water/Meth Kit 30-3300 sitting in my garage
13. Engine oil: using my favorite 5W-50 Motul 300V
14. Current turbo is a stock high flowed turbo from a local turbo build shop. Not sure what the specs are but it’s got a really nice response and top end power.
Clutch: currently has a JDM MazdaSports street clutch. Planning to upgrade to a Southbend Level 3 or a XM Street Plus twin plate. Need to figure out which one soon
