Do we have a dyno tales thread on MSO? I didn't find one, so let's fix that.

Post 'em up if you've run 'em; include mods, stories, graphs/videos, whatever you want. I'll start:

Took my car to a local(ish) performance shop's annual dyno event on Saturday. Temps measured at 73* when my turn to run came up.

CS turbo
3" intake
FMIC
3" catless turboback
E30 tune by Will @ Purple Drank

If I was surprised at the numbers, the crowd was REALLY surprised. Consensus beforehand seemed to be expecting about 300whp, so they were not quite prepared for me to outpower all the Evos/STIs and a good number of the V8s that ran before me:

Definitely left feeling good and satisfied, and I particularly enjoyed listening to the sounds of WOT from outside my car...sounds better than it does from in the cabin!

Anyone else have some fun Tales From The Rollers?

First one back in 2013. GT3071, E85, 3.5" Intake, FMIC (TR8L), Catless DP, Freek tune, probably other stuff I cant remember (it was 4.5 years ago)
2013 Dyno.jpg

Same event the next year (2014), GT3071 again think, would be the same mods, but I think I had and an exhaust now. This may have been freektune, possibly self tune, cant remember when I started doing that.
2014 dyno.jpg

Most recent dyno (fall 2016). Built motor, 93 fuel, Custom 3076, JMF with PI and 630cc Injectors, TR1035, 4" intake, CPE EM, Catless DP and full exhaust. Was 97 degrees inside the shop, so I hit my load targets and only got 22 out of my 25 targeted PSI. Probably left 20-30 hp on the table because of that.

The goal is to dyno yet this year when Will and I get done with my tune. Just finishing up 93 now and hope to get E85 done soon and on the rollers. The goal will be to blow all these old ones out of the water.

These are from a dyno dynamics twin roller.

Orange graph was my basemap with the 6th port on E48 mix and Green is from a map that was a few revisions away from being the final tune on this setup (PTE 5862 w/ 6th port)

Kinda cool having more whp than a Gran national, although it had 400 more tq than me lol.

Here's an old school pull from when I was on a 5858 on a Mustang dyno received_10102395099049492-1.jpg

My car did not like the dyno dynamics machine one bit. I`d been on that exact same one probably 30 times prior in different cars so I`m sure it was just having issues (broke the strap twice that day so there`s a clue LOL).

Here's my last dynosaur day back in January. Rocking a GT3582R running 34psi. Rookie numbers, I know. In the next week or so I will be going back to the same dyno with my PTE 6062 running around 33psi. Just gotta crack 600 and I can get the #599 hashtag out of my life (thanks @Maisonvi). This dyno pull was pretty fun too since it was at a shop that does mostly VWs. For the employees there, to see a WHP number that started with a number higher than a 2 must have really made their day special!

See sheet, uncorrected CF cause I roll that way:

Once I get Will alone at the track too we're gonna dial the car up... Just gotta figure out how to make our schedules align somehow.

Yeah, the way those dynos strap the cars down is quite unique, as well.

OP edited to add current leaderboard. if we get enough graphs, we can also do a by-category listing.

Only been on the dyno once, was earlier this year. BNR S3, 3" intake, FMIC, 3" catted turboback exhaust, 93 octane, Hypnotic tuned. I'm obviously out of fuel.

The guy operating the dyno said that he's seen that dyno run about 20 HP low, but I feel like every dyno guy/shop says that so I don't put much weight in that. Either way the car feels great and is an awesome daily driver. I have also since added E85 which has really woken the car up. Consistent ~375 HP on vDyno with the E85, but hoping to get on some real rollers again sometime in the spring. No desire for any more power, I like that I am still on my OE clutch haha.

Video too large to upload and not on YouTube or anything, sorry!
