I have purchased a TON of new 2x versions of the forum software version 1.x addons I gotta buy more, just need to find some information as it's been a bit since I have needed to buy new software, I am probably going to pay our host to test build the updated forum to test out. It is a LOT of work, probably a month or two, but its going to be nice. I have a new chat with all kinds of stuff. GOOGLE SEARCH will be integrated. So yeah. This is what I have been up to.

Any chance for discord integration instead of and/or supplementing shout?

Good question! I'll have to search this as I know ZERO abiut discord. I know the current shout is not available but found a robust one. Let me go peep it quick.

This is the shout I'm planning on going with

EDIT: Found this. Looks tough to do but is great when it works.

If you need help with discord stuff, there's tons of us here that can assist (myself included).

Check that add on out. I think that will work!

I worry all the chats will kill threads though. The chat option is pretty robust itself

I would imagine it should be possible to dump the contents of any chats to threads (since it also links to users/permissions in the forum), but if you're uncomfortable with it then don't do it; simple as that.

I really enjoy discord personally but I do find people don't check pins etc and having a discord server really becomes another fully moderation gig.
That being said I would have a general chat and that's it for chat.
all other channels would simply be a bot putting in new posts into a feed. New post in x section / thread have the feeds mirror forum sections so people can still check them basically like a RSS feed I could see that working quite well. Honestly if chat didn't scroll down automatically all the freaking time on the website when on a mobile device I personally would be content with the current one.

Although you did say raider that it'll be updated with the migration?

I posted elsewhere in public...I have purchased several hundred dollars in software upgrades linked to Xenforo 2.x forum software and Google Search integration is one of them. I will be having our admin Adam build the test forum upgrade and test the migration and all the software. I hope the new raffle software is easier to set up. Currently it is a pain.

Nobody wants to do deep dive tshooting in shout; don't worry about that. If I'm around and someone has an issue I think will take more than a couple sentences to fix, "make a thread."

You're definitely good for this, so are others I still see threads being created

Last post was a true "2 weeks" ago! Now that Xenforo 2 has been out for a while, many paid features are now standard, most all are updatable if not. The update is being revisited as Xenforo 1 is like Vbulletin was for MSF. Outdated. I still pay for licensing on all the addons we have, so that is fun.

Lately MSO has come under a massive Russian bot attack of emails spam and registration spam. Captacha you say? They have overcome that. All the add-ons available are for 2.x, so need to update. Plus the host server needs to be updated too so it is a multi-step process. If anyone wants to help fund the addition costs for all this, you can paypal webmaster@mazdaspeeds.org. Will help cover app updates and be able to give the mad scientist responsible for this update (and the creator of the current forum) too.

Either way, hoping to be updated soon! Will give a warning before the forum goes down for the move. Here's to hoping the next update is not in "2 weeks!"

We are making progress. And by we, I mean Adam and an xenforo guru. Will be working on a test build of the forum on new server and working out any issues before moving over.

If anyone is using the "light" version (why?!) we will not be including this in the build.

Our migration expert we hired on needed some server side stuff done and working on that. But it's happening. Should I give this the ol "2 weeks"?
