Nice to meet you all
Its been a year since I bought my 11/2008 Gen1 mazdaspeed3 and been driving it stock since.
Just about time to get some money thrown at it. This little beast more than deserves it.
So I had around 20k budget looking to go full bolt on without yet touching the engine or going AUX.
Will be maxing my stock block out.

Parts Ive bought so far

-CST5
-Oem new timing chain kit
-Corksporthppf lol
-Corksport injector seals
-Corksport boost control solenoid
-NGK one step colder
-Corksport adjustable short shifter + bushings
-Corksport throttle body spacer ( not too sute if I should put this on even though Im not yet officially a methhead)
-Corksport Balance shaft delete kit
-Corksport oil catch can
-Tial wastegate

Parts Ive ordered and that should arive soon (I live in europe and have to order from the US so shipping takes time)

-Bilstein B16
-Willwod dynapro 6 big brake kit
-Go fast deceptor pro Blow of valve
-Damond full engine mount kit street
-Corksport 3.5" turboback
-Whiteline F&R sway bar package
-Corksport front tower bar
-Corksport lower tie bar
-Hardrace forged rear camber kit (pillow ball)
-Hardrace front lower control arms
-Hardrace rear reinforced strut mounts
-Whiteline rear uper camber arms
-Corksport exhaust manifold
-JMF intake manifold V2

I want to get some advice from you all guys. Any other parts I would need. Things I should look out for. whose door should knock for my pro tune ?

I live in Albania and there has never been another mazdaspeed3 in ny country and still mine is the only one. In a heavily german fanbase arena as Albania is, I want to make the Mazdas proud and represent mazdaspeeds with a clean build. Albania is full of backroads and there are no strict limits in place so Its kind of a non stop rally down the roads and I feel like my ms3 will be well equipped to compete.

Ive read that 370whp should be max I can go for is that right ?
Should I aim for less to keep it all safe ? My wish is to daily drive my speed ofcourse hard drive it and then do it justice by taking good care of it, almost daily since I run an auto repair shop with my two friends. So I have the luxury to take real good care of my baby.

Thanks guys for reading through :)

I'd get an intercooler ets>cpe>CS if you want tmic. I'm part of the TMIC gang, many posts here about fmic vs tmic... people have made over 500hp on the old ets tmic.

As for tuner go with freektune or purple drank no one else. I've been freektuned on my daily for almost 10 years and she's still running well. Talk to the tuner about what youre after and they can help guide the tune / you. yes 370 is about the max the stock fueling can handle is a different matter

Interesting, I never thought that there is really a debate TMIC vs FMIC. I was just about to order the TR8 with the undermount JBR piping kit but now it looks like I must dive into the topic TMIC vs FMIC. Ets looks cool really, just checked it out and if it can support 450-500hp i might go for it.

I will also do timing chain, any suggestions of what else to change ? Other than the kit I will also be ordering both pulleys. Anything else I can change once there ?
I already wrote to freektune. Sent him a list of the parts.. did not know that I can also order parts feom him so now checking his website for some more parts I might need.

Also any ideas on some weight shaving without touching the interior. Like lightweight wheels I can get or anything else I can swap to shave some weight ?

Also since Im new here I would appreciate if you could lead me towards some threads I can check for valuable info. Ofcourse Im lurking around heavily trying to get as much info as I can but older member like you might be able to help direct my attention where needed. Thanks

Edit: I plan to go PI in the near future too looking at some thread here I realise PI isnt possible with TMIC so FMIC is my onky choice hence I will stick with tr8 core and JBR undermount piping.

Welcome!

Post some pictures!

If you need timing done let me know. See link in signature. I walk people through it probably once or twice a month for the last 12ish years. And re timed a TON.

Also, stock block TMIC IS BEST! Try to change my mind.

Honestly there is no reason to go fmic until you have a different intake manifold that doesn't support it

OP going JMF intake manifold so fmic. TR8 is good. Jbr boost tubes tho have been known to flex mad under boost not sure if it's still a thing or not.

Jbr boost tubes have been known to flex hard under boost ? What would you suggest I go for then instead ?
I will surely post pictures when I start my build. It should take me a months or so from now to have all the parts in my workshop.
A question I have, initially I thought to not touch the engine yet so Ive ordered the cst5 turbo for my stock block but after ordering it, I changed my mind and now I want to build my engine too capable of ~650whp.
Would the cst6 be a better option and if so anyone here knows if corksport would be willing to replace the turbo for me if I dont open the package when it arrives ?
What are your suggestions guys, should I stick to the cst5 or cst6 would be a better choice ? Whats the max whp cst5 can support ? I see on corksport info they suggest is a 500+whp turbo but anyone here has pushed it beyond that ?
Also I know there is a ton of posts arou d here for an awd convertion but someone can please let me know whats the cost aproximately in parts only ( I can get the job done in my garage ) ?
Guys its a pleasure to be around thanks all for your responses :)

There are like five guys who have done an awd conversion and none of them have documented it well I would not suggest tackling that unless you are an experienced welder / fabricator.

Realistically you can use the cx racing tubing in the tread stone intercooler with the jbr brackets not under mount but works well.

Cst5/6 would talk to corksport if you want that power level were talking about port injection as well at which point me manifolds are the play do I'd go with a pte turbo on a vband flange stock flange flows like poop. Cst5 maxes Sunb 550 iirc so cst6 would be better for you. Has it shipped yet? Call corksport using Skype to landline (they're international for me too so that's what I do) and see what they can do for you they're good on the phone. Have had success via email too

Unfortunately none of the staff is an experienced welder but still surely going awd is the final chapter for the ms3. Ofcourse I have all the time I need in my hands to get as much information as I can, and ofcourse since we are an auto repair business we can use our experience to help have a proper awd convertion when time is right.

Cx racing looks good and I like the full kit including core but a question I have. Since I plan to go aux and get the JMF intake manigolf with rail, will the intercooler tubes fit if they arent undermount ? So can I fit the JMF inlet manifold with rail and the cx racing FMIC ?

The package hasnt yet arrived but it is in my country already so most likely I will get it within the next 24 hours.
Im still in a dilema though. So basically I plan to have two maps. One at just about 400whp which is perfect for twisty roads and around town driving and one map for the best time mainly 100-200km/h so I plan to have the third best time in my cou try for 100-200 with my ms3. What Im not sure is which of the two turbos will help me achieve the fastest 100-200 time and 1/4 mile. So the cst6 considering Im FWD maybe takes time to spool qnd also maybe it needs babying until I hit 4th gear. If the cst5 helps me achieve a better 100-200km/h then Im keeping it but must do a little searching on the topic. Also ofcourse CS has been very professional so far and I placed more than an order with them already so through a call Im hoping I can get them to agree to swap the cst5 for the cst6 if I want to go for it. Else maybe I just get to buy thdm both since surely I will get one more speed3 probably gen2 this time in the near future. Ive checked one already in germany a gen2 in perfect condition appart from the turbine which needs repaired, selling for just 5500euro well underpriced. I love my speed so two wont hurt but budget isnt supporting it yet. Not enough budget atm.

So here is an update.
I have now also a gen2 with a built motor running 420hp atm.

Plans have changed. I now plan to go for 500whp with the gen2 and around 350ish whp with the gen1.
So I want some thoughts on external wastgate vs internal wastegate, meth vs 8th port, and fmic vs tmic. Is the tmic able to support 500whp ?
I want as little lag as possible. Also Im now left with a cst4 and a cst5 are these food turbos or should I go for sotmething else instead fo my power goals. A friend of mine is telling me that the corskport turbos are very laggy.. i want to build a car that can handle curves and not a drag car so is there any turbo suggestions for less lag than the cst5 and the cst4

Well if you want as little lag as possible and 500 whp it's going to cost you.

Probably looking at Borg Warner EFR or Garrett G series. Both of which are expensive turbos but where the real cost comes in is all the custom exhaust work you'll need to run one.

That being said the CST5 you have should be capable of achieving 500 whp. As far as aux fueling my understanding is that running a PI system is more reliable than a meth system.

It really depends on your goals and budget.

All the direct drop in big turbos are going to feel different than the OEM K04 as they won't have that kick in the ass punch but more of a smooth hard push.

There's a lot of info here about different turbo setups and what you are after has been done plenty of times. Look through the build threads there's a lot of good stuff in there.

I now have 4 speeds :D
2 gen1 and 2 gen2
Im building teo of them
Have already decided on the turbos.
Im gonna get the twinscroll efr7163 stage2 optimised by turbozentrum
And the k04 stage2 optimised by turbozentrum

Im gonna be pushing 470whp on the bl
And 340 whp on the bk
I dont want to go for more hp since these are not meant to be straight cars only for me. I want them to rip around corners

Since I have 4 now to play with once these build are ready I will get into the other two.

I want to go for an awd setup with one of them but im not sure if I will fuck up the driveability of the car by doing so.

One of my big questions at the moment is if I can get away with the tmic from corksport running 470whp instead of having to go fmic.
I just prefer tmic overall.

My white bk is my first speed
In the first picture you can see the bl. Thats when i drove 2000km to germany to check it out and ended up buying it.

The white bl will rpobably be a donor ( for the grey bl which will be my top build) but at some point I may go through a build with that too. ( by donor I mean if i will need a part urgently instead of having to wait for it for weeks to arrive from abroad.. i can just use parts from the white bl) i have a huge storage of spare parts too anyway which I bought over the lats 2 years.

My workshop atm is mostly a big storage of speed performance and OEM parts haha
End goal is to have 4 speeds in top top shape.

Im already doing a good job with my grey bl and white bk. No compromises on these two builds

The black bk is going through an engine rebuild with stock internals Atm

Im so in love with the speeds. Thank god I run a workshop otherwise I couldnt even think of having four speeds around.

Will bring in tons of pictures later on in the coming months and timelapses of my builds possibly :)

Btw these are the only 4 speeds in Albania. So I want to represent ourr platform at its very very best here.
People have no clue what these little beasts can do.
Love it when my stock bk hurts feelings on b roads

Also lastly my dream build at some point probably 2 years from now.. would be a 13b build.
That must be a wild card. Probably go awd or rwd 13b and rip hard.
These babies will go a long long way with me :)
