So I wanted to share my story about working on getting my injectors cleaned and new seals..
Im not good at working on cars apparently, but im learning.. I know some of you can do this stuff with your eyes closed..
This is my daily driver, and the savings funds are low..
With that said, I made my first attempt to do the injector seals.. (some of the details might be off since its been a lot on nonsense)
First attempt- it was rainy and i never did any job like this compacity. definitely more than ive ever done. I got the IM off, but it was rainy and i needed the car, so I gave up and put it all back together.. lost a few screws.. turns out the Map sensor didnt stay plugged in.

2nd attempt. got the intake Manifold off. put some seals on.. one of the bolts was really rusty. The
torx bolt was really stressing me out.. couldnt really tighten it.. left it on a bit loose... just kind of left it.. DONT DO THAT..
When i test drove it.. Fuel was spraying out from the rail! (Praise Above for no fires)
3rd Attempt.. Put in some new injectors that i got off ebay.. car wouldn't start.. . dont buy injectors (LIKE OEM is not oem) lol
4th attempts... Put old injectors back on so the car can at least run pretty well till i get things figured out..
Remember that rusty bolt.. well, it just spun.. I would tighten it down, and it would just spin.. I STRIPPED THE THREADS IN MY ENGINE HEAD..
I got to the store and the coil tap set.. (never really done anything like this before).
-I got my drill.. (too big to fit in engine bay)
-bought a second very small drill from walmart, not strong enough
-Bought a 3rd drill from home depot..
-Ran to like 5 store trying to get some odd sized metrix size drill bits, only to realize I have a close fit in standard size the whole time..
Drill it fine with tape on the drill bits as a guide to make sure it doesn't go in too far..
then i thread it by hand.... HUH? the wd40 that i sprayed on the drill bit for lubrication, it looks green... odd.
HEART DROPS... what did i do?!?
I check the coolant resouvor to compare and when i opened the cap, the airflow made more coolant flow out of the hole i drilled..
oh man..... how did this happen?
So, 2 options.. jbweld or sealant... I bought both and went sealant since its less permanent.. It kinda worked..
put it all back together..
Pinched an o ring.. fuel spraying everywhere. I was using some of the o rings form the ebay injectors.. what a mess.
5th attempt or something..
I do all this research on the best lubricant's to put on o rings.. Bought some dialectric grease for previous attempts but now I used superlube..
Bought a TON of orings from Mattdamond, and some more from rockauto.. each time i take the rail off, i feel like it chews up the orings..
replaced some torq bolts with some studs.
after like 6 or 7 attempts.. the car runs.........
Then... disaster happened.. Liquid was pouring out of my car.. AGAIN? another o ring failure?!? nope.. coolant draining out..
but it wasn't draining out from where i drilled.. it was draining out the side area.. blown head gasket!??!

I was so sad.. I thought the engine was done..
So.. turns out.. it was THE MISSING BOLTS. in attempt 1.. those were from the fuel line near the hpfp.. THOSE BOLTS HOLD THE WATER COOLANT BYPASS THING IN PLACE... they are very had to put back on.. and i once put them on.. the major leak was fixed..
over the pass few months.. I'm very blessed by God that i have a car that runs..
between fuel spraying everywhere..
overheating a few times...
and yes im leaking oil. so its been low more that is should have been.. keep adding more as a go (leak ever since the vvt got done, no i didn't do it lol)
The car is up and running.. Praise Above!!
Thanks for reading all this!!
