Interesting.

The M6x1x40 will not finger thread into the suspect hole. Stock bolt will.
The M6x1x40 will finger thread to the bottom in any other location.

I emailed Advanced Performance from their website to see hat sort of expedited shipping they could manage. Going to call the 2 or 3 local Mazda dealers hoping they have one somewhere on a shelf?

One of the local dealers had a set - picked up 3 bolts just in case to hold me over. I'll re-start this tonight - work is on fire.

Everything back together, checked my hoses and connectors but currently in a no start situation.

Ignition occurs, it will rev briefly and then quit. If I give it gas it will run for a minute then cut out. Sounds awful too, I may or may not have heard a crack sound? Not seeing any extra ventholes yet, nothing spilling on the floor.

I'll troubleshoot and diagnose later, I know to not mess with it right now.

Once it warms up a bit in the garage I'll go and remove everything I had removed before and then re-assemble, possibly missed something.

The way my weeks have been going lately I'm just getting overly concerned about having bent or broke something. I just needed to last another 6 months or so, been waiting to buy something new so I can make the 'speed a project car and not have to rely on it anymore.

Yep - missed something alright - missed one of the hoses on the manifold, underneath - don't recall its function. Got him re-attached and started no problem.

I now have misfire on cylinder 2 - just picked up a new coil pack as the plugs are brand new. Giving a bit of time to cool, do some work work and will swap out and see in a bit.

New coil pack and I'm back to 'normal'.

I'm not sure if my normal is a true normal but the car runs and drives like it should.

Thank you. Weight off my shoulders for the time being. And you were totally correct - it was definitely something post MAF, thanks for the tip . But no, I knew it was something I had undid I just didn't redo and should wait for rested eyes.

Got a misfire again on the highway on Easter, cylinder 4 this time. I knew I had just replaced the spark plugs and cleaned the valves when I did the intake and valve cover gaskets. Stopped at autozone and picked up a coil pack. Problem solved.

I am unhappy with my clutch engagement, same feel still from the last 2 clutch kits, did a brake/cutch fluid flush when I did my clutch replacement a few months back that firmed it up more but the pedal doesn't feel as stiff as I think it should be and the engagement is very sudden with very little travel from fully depressed. Maybe I'm making things up.

I also need to test somewhere that someone doesn't think I'm racing them and just see how it acts with the clutch depressed under higher load. I sometimes feel like the clutch isn't fully disengaging completely under certain circumstances, but it could be my feet as well.

I remember reading about people getting cracked clutch pedals before - I did a quick glance while I was cleaning up the carpet a bit and didn't see anything obvious. The pedal does have an annoying squeak at time. I'll climb under there with a real flashlight and see.

So I don't see any cracks or bends in the clutch pedal assembly. I just vacuumed the car for the first time in probably a year and used my carpet cleaner in the car for the first time ever. Lets just say the water I dumped was...nasty. Worse than any apartment carpet I've cleaned over the years.

Anyways - pedal looks ok to me, might go ahead and buy a new one for shits and giggles. I know the master cylinder and the slave cylinder were replaced in the last 4 years along with the hard line from the master to the slave. I guess one or both or all could be going out. Considerably noticeable last night, worse at lower speeds - almost like the clutch was sticking but I never got the rpm rise or smell like I was dragging on it.

WTF is with me and transmissions related issues?

Did you remove the pedal bracket? I had a crack and couldnt see it till I pulled the assembly out. Also, I thought the Speed 3s had issues with fire wall cracks too. Might be valuable to check there if you have good visibility. Your issues present like a crack for sure, plus the new components...

I had an issue where the car would drive fine, but if I went above about 4000RPM, I would have issues with chipping a few teeth while trying to engage a new gear. Usually 3rd was the worst. It wasnt horrible grinding, just not smooth engagement.

I did not and you bring up an excellent point. I have mothers day obligations tomorrow but I don't have to be anywhere during the week next week. I'll go ahead and take it off and look at the whole assembly. Though I'm also at the point if I'm going to remove something that is 10 years old I might as well replace it. Guess should go order a new one.

I can check the firewall but I do not have the symptoms described. Just a general overall 'lack' of pedal feel and engagement but no grinding of gears or issues entering gears.

Picked up a P0098 and a P0108 about 10 minutes from home a bit ago, the fun never ends

Clutch pedal assembly ordered.

I think the clip on the MAP sensor broke. Went out to take a look and the connection had fallen loose. I slid it back up but couldn't get it to click. Verified readings again and correctly had boost being registered both on the car display and movement on the AP - previously it was static at -6.34 (or something similar).

Cleared codes and I'll go for a drive later.

Got the clip to stay on with some zip tie magic - probably need to replace the clip on the wire harness though.

Need a new driver side door handle/grab bar. My side is looking a little rough

Haven't had any luck yet - maybe just a sand and paint myself?

Also noticed I finally am getting the dashboard separation over the middle displays. It may have been for a minute - its all black and not noticeable unless you are looking for it. Add that to my list of things to replace/fix as well.

I do not have a confirmation and the charge that was on my bank statement has disappeared.
