MZR valve buckets/tappets

Hey guys I'm in a slight dilemma. The first garage took apart my motor and the second garage is in the process of rebuilding it. I know l know long story...so the valve buckets were never labeled as far as I know so what's the process for reinstalling them if you have no idea where they went? I read a post that said I'm screwed. Should I just buy new ones?

The reason you are "screwed" is not you have to measure each one. You will be fine using the ones you have, but its a guessing game on where they go. Any shop worth their salt can measure and check each one. Its just time consuming, but as long as you are using the same head parts all the way around (cams, valves ect) you are fine and dont have to buy new.

The head is from another speed because the original got a hole in it from an over ported job. The valves are std supertech with everything else original from my motor. Will I have to get new ones with that fucky list? Thanks.

Possibly. You have to measure what you need and what you have then. It's unlikely you will have to order all new, but either way you will have to measure to see which ones you need.

Considering that the valves are not oem, and im assuming they have all been lapped, you may need different tappets than the ones you have. When doing my head I was really anal and I made sure every intake valve had the same gap, and same for exhaust. Luckily I had a donor head to borrow tappets from, and have half left over. If you need any tappets I may be able to help, just let me know.
 
Its important to note that old tappets wear down. So if you are off by x amount before you buy a new bucket measure your current one. For example if the bucket says 330 and you need to make up .020 dont order a 350 unless you know the bucket in question measures 3.330. The 330 could of worn down to 310 so you would be off by .020.
