So long story short, I sold my speed 6 to my brother, and about a month ago I picked up this south of Tacoma. Its a '64 F100 2wd with a 289 and a 3 on the tree. Odometer shows 24xxx but id say its been flipped at least once. It tried to strand me twice on the drive home....once getting stuck in 3rd gear and then with about 12 more miles of highway left the return hose from the heater core split, luckily right at the barb. So after borrowing a box cutter from a gas station I was back on the road.
So far I've converted it from points, installed the correct fuel sending unit after someone installed the wrong one and then cut the float to fit in the hole, subsequently water-logging it, and installed a generic Bosch tach. Ive also got new heater hose that needs to be cut and installed but I found alot of rust on the battery tray so ive been blasting that with a wire wheel.
Also the coolant return barb on the intake manifold was roached pretty bad so I replaced it with a brass 90° I got at ACE. Currently I'm also waiting on a new driver side exhaust manifold since the one on the truck has an ear broke off on the #1 cylinder and it sounds like a tractor. On to the pictures and my Roadkill-esqe list.
