Necessary to install new coils and injectors?

My 2007 has 165k miles on the original injectors and ignition coils. Still gets same gas mileage as when new.

My 2nd OEM turbo is leaking like a sieve and I want to go to a Corksport CST4.

I know I need an HPFP internals upgrade but do I need new coils and injectors (and even LPFP) for sure?

You might be due for a cleaning on the injectors. Would not be fun to be mid tune on the CST4 (you'll need an AP, or VersaTune too FYI) and need to pause due to a problematic injector.
 
I dont really want to spend $700 on an Access Port. The are selling Versatune options for much less that are just for installing tunes.

I assume Corksport has an in-house tuner?
 
oh cool. Thanks they are cleaning and testing but not rebuilding the moving parts and electronics.

Might opt for new units from Mazdaswag with Corksport seals.
 
Speed Performance has done 2 sets of mine. Not cheap, but if a injector fails disappointing. So out of 8 and 3 were bad. Now while it's a crap shoot, ebay has some vendors that supposedly clean, test, new filters. On my last set (3 failed) bought 4 that way. Fortunately the poker hand of 4 I was dealt were winners.

Graveyard is pretty scummy, heck they mis built and engine and tried to get a tuner to get it running, also didn't seal an engine properly on a build and it was leaking in the parking lot before customer pickup and they left him hanging, to name a couple . wouldn't give them any money coming from someone who has in the past.

Local diseal mechanics should be able to do injector cleaning and service for you.

Well as Awa mentioned super shady and zero customer service as far as I am concerned.

So back in November of 21 I was still on my OEM motor and the Speed was still my DD. I replaced my turbo and at the same time utilized Graveyard for some refreshed injectors.

I ordered injectors from them with the intent to send my cores back after I had installed the fresh ones. Graveyard charged me a core charge until they received my old injectors back which is pretty standard so I didn't think anything of it.

I also upgraded to Overspeed seals. I installed the injectors with the new seals. When I went to plug the injector harness back in I discovered one of the retaining tabs that holds the harness clip to the injector was broken off.

So now here I am on a Saturday afternoon putting my car back together because I need it Monday morning for work with this situation. So I ended up using some high temp RTV in place of the retaining tabs to "glue" the connector on so it wouldn't vibrate off.

I talked to Graveyard about this and all I got was an "Oh sorry". In my mind they owe me an injector since they sent me a broken one. Then I sent my cores in to get my deposit back and have to chase them for a couple weeks after they received them to get my money.

When I finally do they only refunded me for 3 of my 4 injectors and told me one of the ones I sent in failed testing. They said we are even and don't see any reason to do anything about the broken one they sent me.

Awfully convenient if you ask me, I typically like to give businesses the benefit of the doubt and an opportunity to fix mistakes.

I realize sometimes things happen but as far as I'm concerned they have zero interest in customer service it's all about taking your money and after that good luck.
 
Thanks for the heads up on Graveyard. The name says it all.

I think with 168k miles and 17 years on the original injectors I'm better off spending $500 to get new ones. Time is money and the crush washers arent cheap either.
 
Yeah you are way over due for injector service for sure.

My tuner recommends 60k on injectors for service interval. As was mentioned you may or may not have good luck with getting them cleaned.

I'm also probably going to just get new DI injectors next time as well just for a piece of mind.
 
Thanks Raider. I really dont want to spend $700 on a AccessPort. Can I get away with a cheaper version of VersaTune? I dont want that Access port in my car anyway and I have OBDII scan software already for diagnosis.
