I'll start off by saying I did not have the Gen 2 valve cover w/vented oil cap at the start and I was only running the damond motorsports stage 3 occ kit(route 3)

Went thru break in no problem. starting tuning with freektune.
Went thru 91 Di tuning no problem.
Went thru 91 Pi no problem yet
as we went thru E33 Pi tuning when we started getting above 30 psi, the car started having issues with oil coming out vented occ,

I talked to Justin from freak he suggested replacing the vented can stating the dm occ's are too restrictive. So i grabbed one off easy that was 4 times the size and had dual 10an fittings and dual vents.

It seemed to help and we continued tuning.. as the boost and power went up the occ was filling up and spraying out every couple days. And around 36psi of boost the occ was filling every other day. I finished the tune. But never got to run the last two tunes because oil would spray out every drive with ethier one.

So i stayed on the 3rd to last Pi e33 map which cap boost around 33 to 35. I was draining the occ every 3 days or so and checking oil then as well. Drove like this for last couple months. Then I ended up in roll over accident(details of accident not important. But drivetrain was saveable)

Damage to drivetrain
-Boost tube over valve cover to fmic pinched closed
- fuel pressure regulator snapped off pi fuel rail
-pi fuel rail slightly forced down and broke housing of 2 pi injectors

After a few months I bought a new roller.
I had bought car back from insurance and by passed the pi fuel system and i was starting it every 2 weeks for a hr during these few months.

I transferred everything over replaced need parts that broke

Got the car driving on 91 pi no problem but everytime I try the pi on 91 its a no go.

I replaced the pi injectors with same brand and cc Injectors
Drove like this for last couple months.

I was still getting oil coming out the occ and I was trying to figure out what I did wrong with the build to be getting this issue Still

Then I realized I never got the Gen 2 valve cover with vented cap. So I got that put on. Now occ does not fill up often but now I'm getting oil sraying out the vented cap every drive.

So i bought the new version pcv valve plate with bigger opens had the old version before.

So I did a compression test and got this(im in colorado high Altitude so 150psi here is 180 at sea level)
Dry / wet
130. ? cylinder 1
130. 140
120. 140
105 135
(cylinder one wet test couldn't be completed battery died during testing)

So did blow by from not having gen2 valve cover kill the motor?

It has around 20k mile i believe. Just eant to be sure i figure it out and address it. Before moving forward to repair motor. All advice is greatly appreciated

I know thr rings seated properly. I had no knock issues during tuning and power felt great.

Thank you for the help fam!

Wait...you rolled your last chassis and arent considering that as a possible culprit?
It ran after the roll over on di 91 tune no problems. No smoke showed no knock at idle couldn't drive it until I got new chassis. Then in new chassis it drive good. No issues besides the oil coming out occ.

So I figured the roll over didn't do anything besides messing up the pi rail and injector and fuel pressure regulator. Still had same occ issue. No knock on logs after roll over

How long did the engine run in the roll over? Did it cut off right away?

Did you do a leak down test? You could have burned a valve which is why one cylinder has low compression. Maybe do a leak down test? Or just do a full tear down and see what you find.

my suggestion is to discuss engine failure of this engine in this current thread to keep it all in one spot

My bad bro. Ask for help here and didnt get but one response so I figured the people the was following my build would help so I posted it on the build thread.

To be honest I'm not sure. The car did a 180 and I was going backwards into the ditch at a angle and rolled at least 3 times and landed on tires. But it happened so fast I could say when it died. By the time it came to a stop thw car was off. And I don't remember hearing the engine while it was rolling but I had music playing..

I have not done a leak down yet. I will do this shortly. But the car drove for several months with no issues after the roll over. I'll do the leak down This weekend

I would use a bore scope to check cylinder walls. If your can turn scope just right can see a portion valve seat too.
Use your leak down tester, a better indicator of bore/rings health.
Pull pan and take a look, maybe bearing failure.
You will get more opinions if you log and share.
Blow by is a good indicator of gases getting past rings. Sadly the only real way to validate rings, cylinders is to pull pistons. Good luck, it's one of those things, you hope to find exactly the issue.

Ok thanks I appreciate the advice im doing a leak down as soon as I get a chance

Did you ever do the leak-down test or disassemble the engine? What other evidence did you find to help prove the root cause? When you stated the motor died, what specifically failed?

Sorry bro. Life got hectic so car was on back burner. Finally about to start work on her again.

When I say the motor died. I didn't mean catastrophic failure. The car still runs and drives now. But if your in boost oil is coming out vented oil cap and vented occ and u can tell its short on power. Everyone I talked to says same "do compression test what does it show. "

Well the compression test showed low compression on multiple cylinders and oil coming out vented occ and vented oil cap. They all say the same " rings are shot from blow by"

So I have not done a leak down. But at this point the cars runs and drives no miss fires not running rough. so can't be a floating valve. And that ls the only other thing it would be right.. so I'm back to ring failure do to excess blow by.

I'm looking to send it back to Jordan at overspeed and just get a new one made with rods and pistons from this one. Had issue with cylinder 1 spark plug threads so probably need new head done as well
