Just got an 09 speed 3. Anyone with recommendations for a mechanic in North Texas would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome! I don’t have a rec for Texas, sorry. Are you having trouble with your new ride?

Give me a little bit, trying to get a pic uploaded. Been a while since I have done forums.

I should have been more clear, no issues but looking for someone reliable who has worked with speeds before for the upgrades coming.

Smart! Love hearing about mods. I still don’t have knowledge of that area so can’t help there but would love to hear about future mods.

Welcome! I feel like every new member is far away from me. Like I'm the only one in the Carolinas with a Speed. Sad part is I could do a lot of work for people if y'all were closer.

Looking forward to pics of your car. What's the plan for it?

So Far it has
Mazdaspeed Turbo back
Mazdaspeed CAI
Treadstone FMIC
COBB BPV
HPFP Internals (unknown brand)
BC Racing Coilovers
Accessport and working with Dramatune for custom map

Wishlist
Needs struts, havent looking into replacing coilovers or what i want to do here
Upgrade Intake manifold
CST4 or 5 turbo w/ EWG
either rebuild or upgrade injectors
upgrade CAI
Havent looked into Big Brake kit, but on the list
upgrade axles and clutch

Trying to stay reliable and get as close to 400 whp that I can.

Edit to add, upgrade all motor mounts and suspension upgrades on top of looking at the coilovers. Torque steer is unreal on this thing.

How far away from Atlanta are we talking? I do enjoy a vacation in Asheville now and again. Lol, I could use some wrench spinning time from someone who obviously knows the hell out of these cars

Welcome to the Speed world. Really fun cars. I've had my '07 for a long time, but just now getting into messing with it. I'm thinking pretty much like you. Pushing beyond 400hp might be fun, but well into the aux fuel land for that. I'll see what I can get out of my new CST4 setup. Just as soon as the shop finishes fiddling with it. I don't have any place I can work on it myself, unfortunately.

You going to use yours as a daily?
