What's up everyone? My name is TYCO. I bought my MS6 in March because I knew I wanted an all wheel drive 6 speed. I did not know I was going to be buying one of the rarest cars I have ever owned, Google says around 5,000 were made. With that being said, I am VERY GRATEFUL for all of the forums and communities that I have discovered in the last 7 months and the knowledge I've been able to gain.
My car came with methanol injection, cold air intake, XSPOWER manifold, & XSPOWER BOV. It also, came tuned by Versatune. I am getting rid of that after I buy the necessary cable to flash the ECM back to stock and will be installing my Cobb AP.
It is currently in the shop about to have quite a bit of work done to it and I would love for anyone to chime in on things that NEED to be looked at FIRST. I stress need because I am a father to a 4 year old going through a divorce and money is TIGHT!
The current list of things about to be changed are as follows -
X-Clutch and Flywheel, OEM VVT, DTA CV Axles, ALL Damond motor mounts, basic tune-up, Rear Main seal, Thermostat and housing, & if they arrive in time Raceland suspension (not yet ordered).

Should I buy the Front and Rear Differential Mounts? (I was looking into the SURE but the Pre-Order gives no eta and I don't like that)

*****IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD LOOK AT RIGHT MEOW***** (This is my daily and I will not be worried about making power until I get another vehicle and can afford to have this one out of commission for a while.

ANY and ALL HELP is appreciated!!

Thanks for the advice in advance and have a great day!!MS6-1.jpg MS6-4.jpg

Welcome and thank you for your support!

So yeah. Hopefully they upgraded the hpfp internals. Probably did.

That turbo manifold is prone to cracking so keep an eye on it.

Onto the diff mounts. SURE Motorsports will not be making any more. They are about out of business and are just trash. Horrible reputation.

Overspeed Motorsports had the front and rear diff mounts our or coming out.

Rear can be gotten from approved vendor CorkSport too. https://corksport.com/mazdaspeed-6-2006-2007-rear-differential-mount.html

Thank you for the welcome and the info.
I was already skeptical about SURE because the diff mounts have been on "pre-order" since I started looking and they did not show any eta.

I will keep an eye on the turbo manifold as well.

In your experience would you say it's best to upgrade both diff mounts? I ask because I see a lot of rear mounts, but not many fronts.

Welcome you came to the right place for answers

I' m gonna be honest with you

If money really is tight and you need this car for transportation then you need to sell it and buy something else. At this point a speed 6 is only suitable as a second car money pit

I hate to agree with this statement, but honestly it has a lot of truth to it. Mazdaspeed is an aged platform. Not to say you can't daily them, but don't be surprised if you get some days where you have to uber to work if your speed is your primary mode of transportation. Most fixes won't be cheap either. Part supply is going way down.

Replacements can be found if you look deep enough (you could message me for some things, I use a bunch of Focus ST parts on my own Speed to supplement the dying supply chain).

Luckily, I work from home so that's not an issue. I do understand that aging of the platform, but I also know that my divorce is almost over and funds won't be as tight. So for THIS moment, I need to think cost effective AF. In the future, not so much.

Seriously though a speed6 should not be a daily or only car

I appreciate that, but for the moment it has to be. Lol

I don't have a choice or the income to change that until my divorce is finalized.

would recommend keeping versatune over the cobb AP the way the Cali green BS has affected cobb. Heck if I ever need a re tune I'm selling my AP and going versatune. Freektune tunes with versatune and he's top 2 tuners for the platform along with purple drank.

I already have the AP and I have a tune from Versatune so I'll consider this info.

Thanks.

if the versatune license can transfer from the previous owner, you could sell the AP
