New Speed6 Owner Intro!

Hey ya'll! Just got an '06 speed6 and thought I'd make an intro here. Got the car in August, 175000km / 110000 mi, $6300CAD / $4500USD with no info regarding VVT/timing chain, and a clunky front suspension (and as I found out, a transmission fluid leak). Decent body for its age - Alberta driven most of its life but in Ontario now. I was definitely paranoid about the VVT and after about a week I definitely heard the rattle so I ended up taking it to my local dealership, now it's fixed and I've been dailying it for about 3 weeks. Dealer tech had a good look in the engine bay and found/fixed a few other bits but said everything he saw looked to be in pretty good shape. I thought the transmission leak could be either backup light switch or neutral sensor but now I am second guessing it. Going to check it again this weekend to see what I find.

All that aside, car is bone stock, and I got good vibes from the previous owner. Doesn't seem beat up aside from being driven with low tranny fluid, and the turbo has some slop. A bit of rust on the driver's side quarter panel that I got a quote for $1200 to fix. Also considering dry-ice blasting the undercarriage to hit the surface rust. Just found a part-out that has pretty clean strut tower plates so I'll be swapping mine out soon.

I love this car, and will probably do anything to keep it on the road - parking it for the winter, may be outdoors but at least it's not picking up salt. Will probably start a build diary sometime. Definitely open to ideas for the path to take this car; at the moment I'm considering HFPF + accessport map + rear motor mount as a starting point. Then, when the turbo dies I am toying with the idea of CST4 turbo / intake / exhuast / TMIC. I did some auto classes in high school, and I would consider myself novice but able to figure things out, and will use this as an opportunity to develop my skills.

Cheers!
