Hey, im pretty new to the whole modding scene. Been a stock boy forever. But now that I have gotten my hands on a gen1 MPS, and feeling that the turbo swooosh is, well super muted. Coming from riding bikes I have a thing for hearing the equipment, so I was wondering if there is any danger of lean running or over fueling from running an SRI on a stock tune?

Welcome! Gen1, no worries! Unplug the battery first.

Get an SRI from someone like Corksport or Cobb and the MAF housing will be the same as stock, or close enough to not really matter. Add in an aluminum turbo inlet pipe if you really want hear the turbo better; the stock piece is also pretty restrictive compared to aftermarket options.

Agreed you will def hear the KO4 spooly boi sounds a lot more with an AL intake. You can def squeeze more out of this car with HPFP, AL Intake, DP and AP with tune. I would just do those things if you want to keep it pretty stock but have some more fun. The ko4 is a blast for DD life.
