NRG install causes power steering light

Hey guys first time posting here. Just bought a 2013 mazdaspeed3. Upon installing the NRG short hub with quick release I noticed loss of power steering as well as the dash light acknowledging it. In order to install the NRG hub the clockspring needs to be removed which upon researching is connected to the SWAS plug. Is there a way to have an NRG wheel and keep power steering by using resistors or something?

There is no way that I know of to simulate/bypass the SWAS sensor.

That being said, it's been years since I've had my SWAS connected. Nothing has gone seriously wrong.

Why do you not want to have an airbag?

Time to go full race car and save some weight by just doing a power steering delete to match the wheel.

Seriously though check out the links raider hosted and good luck

So I was mistaken about the loss of power steering. The hub didn't fit on correctly cause it was rubbing against the plastic shroud making it harder to turn. I had to dremmel a little bit of it so it works fine now. The power steering light is still on however.

I would rather have an airbag but I was given this setup for free and I don't like the look of the stock wheel (way to many buttons haha)

Thanks for the reply I've seen that video and it helped me understand the SWAS system a lot more.
