OCC bracket

This was a fix to a problem that barely exists but it worked out for me lol. Last time I had the intake off for valve/injector cleaning, I had ordered a CS OCC and the bracket that it came with did not seem like I would be able to find a decent spot to mount it so I decided to make a bracket. This is for the MS6 only as far as I know and it fits where the factory air box was.

You can see the little baby bracket that was sent with the catch can. I borrowed their hole pattern and shape from the top where the can mounts to the bracket and made up the rest of it with some stainless. It makes it very accessible from the top of the engine bay as I need to drain it frequently in winter, being in Wisconsin. I just put a drain pan under my car and can get the valve from under the hood.

I would add a triangular brace between the valve cover and the top bend. That's a pretty long unsupported piece for sheet metal it could fatigue and fail from vibrations

Since the bracket is mounted to the body of the car, you wouldn't want to brace it back to the valve cover of the engine due to differential movements.

If he wanted to stiffen the design, maybe consider welding some triangular gusset plates between the vertical riser and mounting flange of the support.

I had thought about welding some corners in there to support it but honestly, it's a very stiff piece. I got some 11ga stainless locally and after taking a bunch of measurements and doing a drawing in my garage was able to design the bracket to clear the SRI and the frame and be able to support the OCC. I'm sure the basic layout would work for really any catch can with modification only to the top or the upright part of it depending on how they are mounted.

Will your hoses still be sloped downhill to the can? If the hoses droop in the middle you could run into condensation freezing and possibly blocking flow/pressure.
