Old OEM HPFP is toast - need to change over the upgraded internals from the old to the new pump

Hi gang, my 05 Ms6 was running great but slowly the HPFP deteriorated and the solenoid connector broke off so I have purchased a whole new OEM pump

The pump in the car has Autotech internals installed - I was not the person who did the install of the internals so I don't have the luck of experience in terms of familiarity. Reading some instructions it looks like most of the install steps are centered around mostly breaking down the pump and CLEANING everything.

Since my new pump is spotless and brand new, will the change over of internals from old pump to new pump be relatively 'easy'? What can I skip and what can I not?

Also, can/should MS's still crank and start with the HPFP disconnected, or does it give a flat battery sort of crank when trying?

Appreciate the help!

Not sure what you mean by clean everything these don't focus on that, for the upgraded hpfp internal install;

And Attached pdf for CS instructions

It's a straight forward process.

As for the cranking with hpfp disconnected, no idea wouldn't recommend trying, some people pull the fuel pump fuse and run car until it dies to get fuel out, don't know about you but I don't want to lean my car, I'd rather catch the fuel with a rag. Plus if your car has been off for atleast 20 mins it'll have less fuel in the hpfp system I've always found it to be minimal and not worth the hassle if that's what you're looking at doing it for
