P0012

Alright, kinda nervous, because of Internet horror stories.

Car has been acting weird. Got a new BPV (SU/TurboSmart) and the car gave me a lean at idle code. Not a big deal, probably a vacuum leak seeing as I didn't have a gasket for it. But right after I installed the gasket, I coded the car, and it gave me an additional P0012 - intake cam retard something or other. I uploaded a tune, which cleared the code, but I don't want it to come back.

Car has 118k miles, vvt done at 110k. Other mods included CS short ram, catless 3" DP, 3" exhaust, and C'S TMIC.

The internet has scared me. What should my next steps be if this code comes back up? I've read anything from oil pressure sensor to a new head. /halp

Just to start with a simple fix, have you tried cleaning/ re-positioning the sensor? If you clear the code does it come back?

Lets look at the simple stuff before we say you need to re-time the motor.

I have seen it when timing was off by literally 1 or 2 teeth. Let's hope it was done right and the sensor is just dirty.

Good news, the code seemed to have just been a fluke. Now trying to solve this damn P2187 :triumph: Boost leak test had air coming out of the intake/crankcase line, fixed that and re-tightened every damn connection I have. Moving on the a PCV replacement, and an EGR delete for shits and giggles.
