[SOLVED] P0202 Following Injector cleaning

Conuity is good already tested. Atleast with multimeter

Can you load test the injector wires? Connect a headlamp bulb into the injector pins and then apply power through the circuit. You can have good continuity with low resistance if one strand of wire is still intact but not enough strands are in place to carry the current.

What I mean is between male and female. The female side is spring loaded against the male. If the spring is bent, then continuity is not good.
Yup you're right I'm going to repin the connector to be sure
I hope these will do the trick

Don't have a power source to do that with, that's not in the FSM as diagnostic so I'm not going to do that, looking at the Injector pins they weren't even seated in the harness which explains alot! I get what you're saying. I Swapped injector 1+2 waiting for new o-rings will test again

Hopefully the right one is in there. Hard to tell by the picture. Once you get that changed out, it should be good.

That's the hope, at the very least it gets me a pin tool and crimper so I can remove the pin and go to a local shop with it if needed to source a connector of needed.
Let's hope it doesn't come to that, sent it to my mechanic buddy hr figures I'll be good with that.

I had my own wiring jackpot here this afternoon. Picture two old guys one a carpenter the other a mechanic, arguing over how Automotive wiring works.... lol

Got a similar one coming.
Looks like local wrecker has a speed in their yard, going to try snag the Injector harness tomorrow and swap over the connector.

Lucky find! I never see speeds in the wrecking yard near me. I guess that shouldn’t be something to complain about either though

well no harness on the speed at the wrecker atleast that my buddy saw.... back to plan a just re pinning the one I have

I feel like you could just use the harness as is since you ha e straightened the pin
probably what I'm going to end up doing and at least give it a shot, try straighten it a little more. If I could have gotten the new connector from the donor harness I would have swapped it on.

Alright so new seals arrived today, will tackle it tomorrow I should hopefully have the repin tools tomorrow then too.

I will probably just use the connector as is and straighten it a little more but test it with a donor pin from the kit.

Since it's cool out (1 to 3 C) and yes I have a garage heater but I only heat to about 12C I'm going to keep the rail and o-rings inside, then bring them out once I'm ready to install hopefully this keep the seals softer and means the metal in the fuel rail will be expanded as well. Mostly concerned about the seals but may aswell bring the rail in too.

do you have a link to the injector seals? also try using some dielectric lubricant on the injector stems to help it install smoothly

TLDR; check you injector pins after getting them back from cleaning.

its ALIVE!!!!! she lives! no codes. pins on injector straightened, also in connector. good connection resistance measured good. I did not end up repining anything or getting a new connector.

thanks for all the help folks was just a bad connection from injector pin to connector.

Those orings look like they took a beating... I recommend you clean the bores of the injector holes on the fuel rail. Those bores do corrode and create a rough surface, specifically if the car is winter driven in Canada.

In addition, I have a spare injector harness, assuming you live in GTA.

I have smoothed it, hit the lip with a 400 wet sand, nice and smooth, fresh o-rings fuel rail seated nicely.

Thanks for the offer on the harness, I'm not in Ontario although I have family around the GTA.

Im glad you solved your issue!! Im having the exact same issue 3 weeks after getting my injectors back from cleaning. When you say just needed to straight the pins out you mean like just make them parallel to each other?
Thanks a lot

Had to pull the pins upwards as when looking at how the injector would be installed as they were pushed down.

Injector #2 the one in question is on the left see how the pins point down more than #3 on the right? #3 almost points up a little

You can see here on the harness how the female side of the connector is on the top side not the bottom and the pins from the injector were trying to push into the button of the connector so straighten the pins put from pointing downwards to match the angle of the other injector pins better and issue fixed for me

So yes make sure they're even but also angled correctly, hopefully this helps
