So I have this lingering p0443 code, which seems to be a purge valve code (08 ms3). I swapped the purge valve for one I had from my old speed6 (the inline one that sits by the HPFP), cleared the code and it came back. It doesn't feel to be having any issues associated with it, doesn't seem to be affecting idle AFRs and it drives fine. I had considered replacing the line from the purge valve to the intake manifold, but I believe the line is clear because I was able to blow through it when swapping the valve. Any suggestions?

You replaced a used part with another used part. How confident are you the old one was working?
Check the fuel cap, make sure its not damaged and is sealing.

The replacement was probably near the end of it's life on a 135k mi ms6, but it was more intended as a troubleshooting measure and replacement with new if needed. For context, I'm fixing up this ms3. The PO neglected it pretty badly (regular 3 head bolts on 'rebuild') so I've rebuilt the engine and trans thus far. Naturally, there have been a ton of codes so tracking what's causing what has been interesting.
I'll definitely take a look at the fuel cap when I'm back with the car, probably time for a replacement regardless. Appreciate the input!

Sounds like you are really handy - which means that its probably something really simple that is giving you grief! I would say start with the codes and research, car is old enough that there is plenty of info online on the common issues.

I had some goofy purge valve issues once. I used a 9V battery and paperclips to jump the valve, and then threw in a couple of drops of air tool oil. The problem never came back.
Someone posted that once on the old forum. The worm gear inside can bind and throw codes.
Try the oil and battery first before you buy a new one, the valve may just need some maintenance and TLC.
