Ecu harness extension would be tits.
Yeah, wow that's a great idea but it would probably cost a mint. Lots of wires, plus 4x ~50-pin connectors and terminals, and assuming you could get the original supplier to supply. It would depend how well you could automate the terminal crimping, and you'd definitely have to have an automated checking machine to make sure nothing got crossed. But yeah it would have been a badass thing to have.

Holy shit, I can't believe that ECU harness extension hasn't been brought up before. Great idea @Poon_Flavored_Tang
It is a good idea, but if a Bosch MAP sensor adapter that's only ~1 foot long and a few wires costs $30, I wonder how much 2 ECU extensions will cost (one for each connector) with all of their wires?

I did a quick search and found a 2JZ patch harness which would be a similar / same thing and it goes for $339 USD, now the same site also has one for the RB25 and that's $150 so I'd say it's safe to assume somewhere in between the two, or more.

What do you think a reasonable price would be for this?

That I couldn't answer. I'd be willing to shell I out 350 to 400 for it depending on its modularity, design forethought, length and quality. I just need. I'd pay even more for a harness extension and box/enclosure to store it in drivers fender area and get it out of the way in the engine entirely.

I looked into making my own ECU extension (tearing apart an old standback) but ended up not. Not sure how wire resistance would come into play, but I would assume the effects would be minimal

I think the big problem is that most who would've wanted a harness extender have already torn the plastic thing, the tape, etc off their harnesses and got it to where it needs to go. In my case using the CS battery box v2... so the only value to me would be any perceived safety I'd get from eliminating the harness rubbing on the opening in the CS box. There's some safety there but it doesn't have as much value as the convenience would have been in the first place. Also my understanding is you don't have to remove the plastic junction thing, and maybe not even the tape, for the CS battery box v3.

I feel like it would be most useful for those of us who have gone full retard on our speeds. I would love to move my ECU to the driver side fender area and have my OCC sit above the tranny vs the ECU.

I wish someone would make a 2.5+ gallon methanol tank that mounts in the driver's side fenderwell and allows the pump to be mounted underneath. Something like what HTP offered. They have a waiting list to do another run, but all signs point to it easily being years before they do so. I've been on that list for when they do another run (*if* they do another run) literally over a year already.
