PSA: Dorman 924-015 Splash Shield NOT for Genpus

Yeah, that is just it. If it works, fuck it. Wait for it to get yanked off by a raccoon or illegal immigrant who tunneled under the Wall, and then got to RockAuto and get the proper Dorman. Theirs looks OEM, down to the oil filter opening being off-center.

Slightly off topic but related, can we get those side plastic pieces that this mounts to off rock Auto? I have no been able to find them, not even sure what they're called, hard as hell to even find them in junk yards.

sorry for the shitty description, that plastic part the is on the sides of the engine bay that the yellow colour coded screws in pic connect too, wish I could get a side view, best I could Google

I think you're referring to #8 and #9? If so, the part #s are BBM456114B (passenger side) and BBM456115C (driver side):

If you type in those P/N's on Rock Auto, you can probably find something. If not, try Amazon.

I didn't see a Dorman option for Genpu's on Rock Auto. All I saw was OEM, "various manufacturers" for ~$30 + shipping, and "CAPA certified" for ~$70 + shipping. Maybe if I tried 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2012 I could find more options. Rock Auto is weird like that in that not all Genpu stuff is listed for each Genpu year.

Rockauto won't list something not in stock. They just remove it all together. Ran into it with brake caliper brackets. @FattiMotorWorks or ebay maybe, unless dealer.
That's good to know. But the strange this is that I've found they won't list a correct part for all years that it'll fit. For instance, they may only show something for a 2010 Pu when it should be listed for 2010-2013.

TL;DR Incoming wall of text (below) about one of Rock Auto's VERY dumbtarded policies:

Rock Auto is downright stupid about their catalog (I'm not someone who would normally use that term - I try to be nice, but here's the backstory): I ordered Moog upper strut mounts for my car when I did springs/dampers. They Moog strut mounts were indicated only for Genwons, but I ordered them anyways because I did my research and knew they were the same for both generations. Even further, Rock Auto's online catalog also had another manufacturer's option, Dorman I think it was, listed for BOTH Genwon and Genpu. Now here's the thing: so if a Dorman part # will fit both generations, then any other manufacturer's part # will too, right? Here's why: if one manufacturer's part # fits both (being listed accordingly), then any other design that'll fit one will fit both. They're manufactured to the same design and specifications to be indicated for both generations. (Logic 101: If A = B and B = C, then A = C. This is a syllogism, and is one of the gold standards of deductive reasoning that lays at the foundation of formal logic.)

Rock Auto REFUSED to send me replacements initially when the Moog ones failed because "they're not listed for your exact car in our catalog." After a lengthy process of stating and restating to them what I posted above (any part that fits one must fit both because you have other parts from another manufacturer listing the exact same part # for both in your catalog). Their catalog was dead wrong. I finally insisted on speaking to a supervisor, and got new Moog replacements shipped out to me. I ended up going with OEM ones instead because I didn't want to potentially have to deal with Rock Auto on this issue again. And unfortunately, Rock Auto's return process is not nearly as easy as places like Amazon.

Moral of the story: Rock Auto will hide behind policies, such as those that relate to their catalog, even if you can conclusively prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that their catalog is WRONG, proving it with other parts in their own catalog. I like Rock Auto for some things, but their customer service/hiding beyond asinine policies is terrible. I hope nobody else who reads this goes through what I went through.
[doublepost=1470947042][/doublepost]So, despite the plastic not being the prettiest, I was actually well-pleased with the install. All the bolts and push-tabs lined up very nicely. No more droop in the middle! (Though kinda hard to tell with my super-extra-sure my Speed won't fall on me strategy, LOL!)

Overall, it lines up very nicely. Time will tell if it can endure my driving habits/high speed runs/etc. But overall, despite being ugly, it's hard to beat for the price, and great fitment, for me, is much more important.
